I agree with a rock, don't bark and doesn't get on the furniture.

I grew up with dogs and then when I had kids and all we didn't have one. I didn't want to mess with the fur, the food, the vet, the shit etc... But just a few months ago I gave in. We got a guinea pig... I built it a huge box to live in. Thing is crazy... Wife hates it now but it has a nice place to live and food... Same time we ended up getting fish... I'm tired of that damn fish tank and all the fucking algae. If it wasn't for the algae it'd be nice... Then, then we got a dog. And I am so glad we got her. It was finally the right time with our kids being young and the right dog. Had to bored her for a few days here and going to get her this afternoon. I'm excited to see her! Actually gonna get another dog too! A good cat is nice but I think finding a good cat is harder. We took in a stray kitten last year. Omg we fucking hated that cat. Was gonna take it to the pound. Cat got lucky a girl at work took it in... Dogs all the way. image by BillyDoubleU, on Flickr image by BillyDoubleU, on Flickr |

DOG. Just lost mine on 3/30. She was a big black lab that adopted us just about two years to the day. I wasn't ready for a new dog at the time (less than five months of losing my 11 year old GS). I tried chasing them off ( she was with a bloodhound looking smaller dog). That was a cold rainy Sunday afternoon. on Monday the other dog was gone but the lab stayed. When I left for work I assumed she would be gone when I got back, not so. Now I felt real bad because she had been out side for almost two days, so I brought her in to the house and gave her food and water and a place to sleep. Then my wife called to me and asked IS THAT DOG IN THE HOUSE? I said yes she is. The wife says if we keep her she needs her shots.
The last two years she was one of the best dogs I ever had. I never had a lab before but will get one in time. |

The best pet...
If you want unconditional love: Dog If you want to be a slave: Cat If you want an undemanding pet that doesn't care if you live or die as long as it's fed and comfortable: Snake |

Why do all labs have the same 2 faces?
1. The just-woke-up "what the hell?" face 2. The sleep. My lab is the same. He's either got his head down snoozing like a bum, or he's looking at me like he just farted and can't figure out what the noise coming from his backside was. I love them because they're naturally protective of family members, and as loyal as can be. I guarantee mine has helped my stress level lately more than anything. It's nice to go home and see his goofy face and know all I have to do is scratch him behind the ears, give him a hug, and all is good for a while. |

My wife won't let me get another, simply because she knows there won't be another Lab to equal the one we had for 16 years. Best dog ever. We are Mastiff owners, now. I can't recommend a Lab enough. Once you get through the terrible twos they are awesome! |
