Howie LOVED hanging out on AR-15 (sometimes food was the only thing that could pull him away!). I just want to let you all know that I'm thinking about you guys. I don't know how to get into his account to post more info on services- I just happened to have the page logged in from his last visit here. Could someone send me information at [email protected] (please put AR-15 in subject line somewhere) so I can post about services and his obit and the messages don't get lost in all the threads?

Also, if you would, please consider donating to Wounded Warrior Project in his memory. http://woundedwarriorproject.org/  He lived his life to help others, and his last act was to save his passenger. He would want that legacy to continue.

God bless you all. Thank you for all of the laughter and passion you brought to my husbands life(and in turn, he passed on to mine!). He was richer for knowing all of you.
Sincerely,
Shelley Cook

Ms. Cook-

Please know that your husband was a valued member here, and many share in your grief, as incalculable as I'm sure it is for you.

Your husband was a good man and Patriot, and shall be missed.

I'm sorry for your loss, and however little this post helps, I hope it makes you feel a little bit better.

There are plenty of discussions here about what is best, 9mm or .45.  Miller or Bud.  Army or Marines.

Howard applied the philosophy of "Get Both".  VMI, USMC, US Army.  Enlisted, Non-Commissioned and Warrant Officer.  Virginia and Texas.  Combat arms and Medical.

Smooth air and soft landings, Mr. Cook.

When I was looking into Army Flight School, Chief Cook drafted a long message of advice.

He didn't need to, but he obviously took a long time out of his day to help out someone who he'd likely never meet.

That's a gentleman.  He will be missed.
