I havent been around this forum in awhile, and now that I am back I see that there is this music section. WAY COOL

Anyway, I have a Fender Strat MIM, an Ibanez Artcore AG85, a Fender 12 string accoustic, and just bought an Ibanez, Iceman ICB300 Bass.

Ive been in the market for an accoustic/electric lately. I have played some really nice Taylors in Guitar Center, but have heard some good things about Martins, and Takamine.

I have been exclusively playing my Ibanez 7-string for quite awhile, I swapped the strings out for the top seven on an eight string. That give me a full octave below the standard guitar E.
I also have a 1945 GIbson J-45, Gibson es-333, fender strat, blah blah blah all the typical shit.

No... Just a touch of luck.
Was helping an ex-girlfriends older brother move out of mom/dads house... He was a late bloomer, moved out of the folks basement around 35 y/o.  He was/is a fairly accomplished musician... Megadeth recorded at least one album at his studio.  Dave Mustane has done several solo jazz albums at his studio.
Underneath the basement steps I found the body and neck in a milk crate of various guitar parts... I was instructed that the entire bin was trash and it was given to me for free.
Also found several ashtray pickup covers and other assorted vintage goodies.  Still have the majority of it squirreled away for later use / trade fodder.  Was able to build a complete Tele from the parts bin as well we the J/P Bass hybrid.

Guess I'll add my current gear setup:

Stringy thingies:
2013 Gibson LesPaul Studio Goldtop
2010 Gibson Melody Maker/LesPaul thingy
2007ish Gretsch 6120
early 80's B.C. Rich Bich 6 (from neck pocket signature, might be one of the Charvel era built ones... but Bernie Rico is written in there...)
1982 Crate/Electra X635 bass.... P-Bass clone with "60 years of SLM" plate on headstock.
1971 Fender J-Bass body with Fender Fretless P-Bass neck

Amps:
blackface era Fender Champ
silverface era Fender Twin Reverb
modern Fender Super Champ XD
Early 70's Traynor YBA-1 bass head with 2x15" Traynor cab

Seriously considering a smaller practice sized bass amp... also a Fender Strat or Tele.... and perhaps an Ibanez RG thingy of some sort or another.

I can't believe I haven't posted my crap on here yet!

My first love, bass:
G&L L-2500, green burst, wood binding stripe, maple neck/fretboard.
Not pictured:
BBE BMax preamp, Peavey PV900 power amp
Avatar 212 Neo cab.  I also have a Fender Bassman 115 cab that I'd do shows with, but it's not here, as I've lent it to a friend.

Guitar stuff, which I've actually been using quite a bit:
Ibanez AF75D-TOR - I'd never had a hollow-body before, but I fell in love with Ibby's models - so easy to play.  Great sound un-amped, too.
Reverend Manta Ray 290 - Love this damn thing.  Joe Naylor is a frickin' master at all he touches.

Ibanez TSA15H head and TSA112C cab.  I've been impressed as hell with this setup, considering the cost.  15W is more than enough for me noodling at home, and the built-in Tube Screamer circuit gives some great overdrive sounds.  Considering the cab uses a workaday Seventy-80, I've been very happy with it.

Well I'm brand new to guitar. I tried 25 years ago to learn it but just didn't have the time or discipline to commit.

Just recently I practically stole this 2015 Gibson Les Paul Standard from Guitar Center and play it through a Marshall MG30CFX 30 Watt amp and could not be happier.

I've heard nightmares about the quality of recent Gibson products, but this one has been nothing but stellar for me.

Nice looking Les Paul. I've been lucky too with the quality of the Gibsons that I've bought over the last couple of years. I've seen some examples of bad guitars that made it out of the factory and some were not pretty especially for the price point.

I've got a Squier Telecaster Affinity, Fender Mustang I and a Squier Jim Root Telecaster (which is in pieces and being refinished, its a project guitar).

Tried learning in college. Never got far. Trying again. Gotten further and looking forward to continuing progression.

Wow!  It's been tens years.  Since this post I've added a Godin SD.  I love the Godin guitars.

I competed the Ampeg B-15N and a Sunn S100 clone for my wife.  I sold the JCM800 clone to a freind and built myself a Ken Fischer Trainwreck and a Tweed Princeton.  Above I said I didn't play with effects but now I've completely changed.  I'm playing a wide variety of music from the 60's through the present.  In order to support all the different tones required to do it "right" I built up a pedal board w/ all the standard effects.  The only standout is "GASP!!" digital, the Boss OD-20.  It's no longer made but it gives me digital recreations of around 20 different classic overdrive and distortion pedals with ability to have five available as presets.  (I also use the good old Boss Blues Driver.)

In the mean time my son start playing drums quite seriously so we now have a set of Yamaha Stage customs with Ziljian A & Sabian AA cymbals

Nice basses. I absolutely love my Squier fretless P bass. I also have a fretless J and both a P and J fretted Fender. Couple of Ampeg amps but my current head is a Mesa tube through an Ampeg 15" cab.

On the electric guitar side, a couple of Strats and an old Kramer with a Floyd Rose. Fender Super Champ x2 and a Stage Right tube amp. There's an old Fender Princeton Stereo Chorus buried in the back room somewhere. Acoustic lineup is a Takamine electric classical, Washburn Craig Chaquico model, and a Taylor 110e.

I record, pretty much exclusively now, so everything I own is geared towards making my own music in a studio. I try to do it all on a budget tho, cause music isn't my only hobby (even tho it's my favorite).

Most of my guitars are my own builds (teles and strats, a couple LP's). But, I have a Jackson, a Fender strat, DeArmond M75, a HB tele, and a few other electrics.

Ibanez Talman and an SR450b Bass.

Breedlove Concert Classic, an Alvarez dreadnought, a Recording King parlor guitar, and a Washburn 240b C/W acoustic.

A few lap steels (Supro, and two I built), and two banjos (Ibanez & a Deering Goodtime).

For amps, I use a Yamaha T100 (designed by Soldano in the 80's) that's been modded for switchable power, mostly use it in a 5w mode driving a 212 with Laney vintage vibes in it. Super versatile amp, for rock.

For clean & vintage sounds I either do VST/IR's (LePou's primarily), or a Boss Katana 100 Pro.

It all goes into an ART MPA-II, then a Focusrite Clarrett to a laptop/DAW (Reaper).

I use a lot of mics, depending on my project or mood, but vocals I almost always use a modded Sterling 55. On cabs it's a blend of a Fathead ribbon and a Samson Q9 dynamic.

Keys I mostly use VST soft synths, but I have a DXIIfd and a CS2X that put to work.

Just saw this from 2013....time for an update

Guitars

- Jackson RR24M w/ DiMarzio Super Distortion - never gets played anymore
- Ibanez RG3EX1FM  w/ DiMarzio Tone Zone and PAF Pro - never gets played anymore
- Fender Strat - Black w/ Fender Pure Vintage '59 pickups - my David Gilmour looking guitar
- Fender Strat Custom built by me - CAR body w/ roasted maple neck, EMG David Gilmour pickups - my Pulse looking guitar
- Fender Telecaster - Butterscotch Blonde w/ Fender Texas Special Tele pickups, black pickguard - my newest guitar and I love it....so much TWANG. I'm on a mission to learn country music..think Albert Lee and Brent Mason
- Fender Jazz Bass - Olympic White
- Epiphone Les Paul Custom - White w/ gold hardware
- PRS SE - 2008 Purple Burst Paul Allender Model
- PRS SE - Flamed Top Trampus Green w/ Rosewood board
- PRS SE - Figured Maple Top Trampus Green w/ roasted maple board - only 2000 made for the US market - this guitar is beautiful
- Deering Goodtime Banjo

I really got back into music this year and my guitar collection really grew to have some guitars I am really in love with. My Strat's, the Tele, and my roasted maple neck PRS guitars and just amazing instruments to play and hear. Honestly everything on that list would be hard to part with as they all sound so different and I tend to play a different way depending on which guitar is in my hands.

Amps

- Blackstar HT20 Head w/ 2x12 Cab loaded w/ V30's - still rocking with this guy and I still love it - my poor mans Marshall
- Fender Super Champ x2 - nice little amp - can get some really good Fender cleans at a low cost
- Fender Deluxe Reverb - next on my list to get. Not sure if I want a reissue or to build my own....probably gonna build my own

Pedals

- Fulltone OCD
- Tube Screamer
- MXR 10 band EQ
- MXR Script Compressor
- MXR Script Phase 90
- MXR DC Brick Power Supply
- Wampler Tumnus Deluxe - this pedal is awesome!
- Fulltone Mini Deja Vibe - don't have it yet, but know the wife got it for me for Christmas - can't wait to try this thing...it'll make all my Dark Side of the Moon dreams come true

Have a West Coast Customs pedal board on the way for all my pedals....these things look really nice.

That is it for now......still want a vintage strat and a tele with a G bender, but those will be much later down the road for me.

Nice. I almost bought a 7 myself. I have Fender P and J basses and Squier fretless of the same models. My favs are the Fender fretted P and the Squier fretless P. I might dump the Js since I'm not playing them. I made a stupid error and blew my Ampeg Micro and PF-500 so I'm playing bass through a Mesa Boogie tube and Ampeg LF-115.

Yeah, P basses are awesome - 95% of the time, they do everything I want them to.  I do find myself wanting a J when I am working on a specific song that calls for that J growl.  Can't decide whether I want one of those or a fretless P next...

I play acoustic. I still have my first guitar - a Fender DG-7, and an Art & Lutherie Americana.

I'll be honest, I love the hell out of my Squier fretless. I find that I play it a good bit more than the Fender. I hear ya about the J, also. I put rounds on one just for slap. I seldom play either of the Js, though.

I need another bass like a hole in the head, but I'm so jonesing a Gary Willis 5-string fretless. They're hard to find in the US, though. I think the last one I saw on Reverb for a decent price was coming from Spain.

Collections have been multiplying I see.

How do you like that Origin 20W head? YT videos of it sound great. Do you have to crank it to get good tones? I love my Blackstar HT20W head, but been thinking of replacing it with a real Marshall, but don't want to spend SC20H JCM 800 money on one. I know it's not high gain like the SC20H, but I don't really do high gain very much, and well, I got good pedals if I need more gain. Plus the built in attenuator on the Origin is very appealing, since I'm betting it does need to be cranked to get the sounds I'm wanting.

I really like the Origin. I use it more for low/mid gain classic rock so I don't tend to turn it up too high. I haven't needed to get the power tubes cooking for a nice tone so far. It is really versatile especially if you use pedals to shape your tone. It takes pedals really well and the effects loop gives more shaping room to run an EQ in the loop. For the price it is hard to beat in my opinion.
