I always tell people that the day I soloed was the day I learned what commitment was all about.

Congrats!

Being from Texas it is inevitable that I would have a few Aggie friends.
I'm sure that you've all heard the Aggie stories. We'll my Aggie friend had been taking flying lessons for a while and finally soloed, but had an accident doing it.
It seems that there was a slight cross wind that day and as his instructor was getting out of the airplane he gave some last minute advise, "When you break ground remember to turn into the wind".
The Aggie took off and immediately rolled into a sharp bank and hit the ground.
When his instructor was pulling him from the wrinkled mess the Aggie kept saying, "I did what you said...I broke wind and turned into the ground"

1+.  That is when it starts to really sink in that you are alone.

I solo'd several months ago.  Doing final check ride prep now.

Congrats.

I am about 1 month away from the 3 year anniversary of my solo.  The flight went great, the landing was good but a little hot.  And upon touching down the nose wheel I learned all about Cessna shimmy dampeners.    The pucker factor was a little high then it occurred to me to yank back on the yoke.

I now feel way more comfortable in the aircraft
