So, I'm new to the habit... like 5 cigars in, and I just bought my second purchase, along with the fixings for a tupperdor and all that, and I was wondering:
How do you keep track of what you like and don't like?
I know that I like Vega Fina's, and of the first batch, there was one that I was neutral about, one that I liked, and one that I didn't, but I didn't keep track of what was what, so when I went back I was a little confused and not sure where to start... So I just picked a different wall than the last time lol.
So anyways, how do you all keep track of what you like and don't? Save the rings?

Well I used to have a note in my phone for what beers I liked.  I have done similar for some cigars.

I keep the bands of cigars I like.  I also keep duplicates.  I think I have a band hording problem

I've been using the MY HUMIDOR APP on my phone and have been very happy with it. It lets you add a picture of the cigar, rate it, make notes, and keeps count of how many you have, how long they have been aging, and how much you paid for them.

There is a free version, but it's well worth the $0.99 for the paid version.

I take the band and write a number rating on the back. Then throw it in a paper bag. High tech I know. I don't keep the bands for anything else.

I'm new to "finer" smokes but I've been keeping notes and stashing bands.

There's an app?   Going to check that out.

When I first started I bought a cigar journal.  I think it is the Cigar Dossier you can find on Amazon.

I don't use it as much anymore because I haven't really tried any new cigars.  When I first got it I would paste the band of any new cigars I tried into the journal and rate the cigar.  I liked it because it is a nice, hardcover book that will last a while.

Because I'm a nice guy: http://www.amazon.com/Cigar-Dossier-Personal-Journal/dp/B001CZNQR6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1413354243&sr=8-1&keywords=cigar+dossier

I Kept a LOT of the bands from when I got into smoking cigars overseas. If you keep the bands another great idea (taken from what I saw others had done there) is make them into art, similar to this:

That cigar app sounds good, I'll have to check into that.

Warped Cigars Makes a journal for them,  It doesn't look like they have them at the moment on their site but keep an eye out for them, I love mine!

Badass little company too,  here's how they sent it to me.

My fiancee is awesome and jots down the notes for me while we are relaxing outside.  (my handwriting sucks)

I would just contact Warped Cigars through their site.  Who knows, He may have some and they just aren't on the new site, or making another batch, or could give you some info.    G'luck

I'm not as exciting as others... I use an Excel spreadsheet. Name, size, quantity, and notes (thoughts, if it's of a special line, etc.)

I have been using it for a long time now.  Indeed it is well worth the buck.

this is a great idea. Anyone had a link to a small pocket sized one, the full size ones are really nice, just not practical while deployed.
