I went through the pages and did not see this anywhere, another forum i visit has one of these running and i heard about all kinds of stuff to check out as well as discuss movies that you love or hate.

The whole idea is post what you watched and few comments about it.

Rise of planet of the apes (2011) -  first time I've seen this version, its was decent, not great but not terrible

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Alpha - this is a short film that ties into the new future soldier game. Its available for sale, and ive heard free on xbox live and psn as well.  - This is a solid action packed short film with lots of violence.

Another Thin Man (1939)

the third in the series of Thin Man movies.

Nick and Nora are visiting a friend's rural estate when he gets murdered.

there was a small part played by Shemp Howard of the Three Stooges fame,
I guess he did quite a bit of acting before joining the Stooges.

and an apartment landlady role was played by Marjorie Main
- who went on to star in the Ma and Pa Kettle series as Ma Kettle

Shot Caller, starring the guy who plays Jamie Lannister on Game of Thrones.

It's about a stockbroker who gets sent to a maximum security prison in California for a manslaughter DUI, and joins The Aryan Brotherhood to survive. After he gets released, he tries to find redemption despite the fact he's now in the Aryan Brotherhood for life and being coerced into committing major crimes whether incarcerated or not.

I don't usually like prison movies, but this one was pretty good.

I just finished watching of the remake of Embrace of the Vampire.
While the original isn't that great, the remake is a World Class Disaster!

It isn't good enough to earn Zero Stars!

Valerian

Took me 3 tries to get through it.  It has a very heavy-handed "Humans Bad, Aliens Good" feel to it, just like Avatar

4/10. Only gets 4 stars for the special effects.  Storyline sucks something awful.

The wrong one out of the two was the 'star/hero'.

ETA: I meant to lead with 'This was the last one I saw, too, and the first one I saw since Interstellar'.

I had the same view, tried to watch it twice
the visuals were great, they really captured the look of the characters, especially the tourists
(from the comic art that I remember from Heavy Metal magazine)
but I didn't care for the story or the characters

Wind River

stars Jeremy Renner as a U.S. Fish and Game officer who happens across the body of a young woman
and helps a young FBI agent (out of her element) find the killers on an Indian Reservation

a very good movie, some of the gun play was a little stupid

I am finishing GODLESS tonight. I was skeptical due to the premise, but it has been worthwhile. There really isn't a star of the show and not even children are bullet proof.

the Netflix series about the early years of the FBI's Behavioral Unit group.
They are trying to get inside the minds of serial killers to better understand and solve murder cases.
