These are the family records of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among his contemporaries; Noah walked with God. And Noah fathered three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

Now the earth was corrupt in God's sight, and the earth was filled with violence (or sexual immorality, murder, theft, carousing, fighting, drunkenness, irresponsibility, and injustice). God saw how corrupt the earth was, for all flesh had corrupted its way on the earth. Then God said to Noah, "I have decided to put an end to all flesh, for the earth is filled with violence (or extreme injustice) because of them; therefore I am going to destroy them along with the earth (or destroy every living creature who I do not save [The LORD's Declaration]).

" Make yourself an ark (or a large seafaring vessel) of gofer wood (unknown species of tree; perhaps pine or cypress). Make rooms in the ark, and cover it with pitch (or hot tar to set) inside and outside (or to seal the shiplap inside and out). Now, this is how you are to make it: The ark will be 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high (or 300 cubits long).

You are to make a roof (or window or hatch; Hb uncertain), finishing the sides of the ark to within 18 inches (Lit to a cubit) of the roof. You are to put a door in the side of the ark. Make it with lower, middle, and upper decks.

       "Understand that I am bringing a deluge--------floodwaters on the earth to destroy all flesh under heaven with the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will die.

But I will establish My covenant with you, and you will enter that ark with your sons, your wife, and your son's wives. You are also to bring into the ark two of every living thing of all flesh, male and female, to keep them alive with you. Two of everything--------from birds according to their kinds, from the livestock according to their kinds, and from every animal that crawls on the ground according to its kind------will come to you so that you can keep them alive.

Take with you every kind of food that is eaten; gather it as food for you and for them."
And Noah did this.

When mankind began to multiply on the earth and daughters were born to them, the sons of God (or fallen angels from the heavenly rebellion fallen now to be bound to earth and its atmosphere) saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they took any they chose as wives (or as kept women) for themselves.

Now, the Nephilim (Possibly means "fallen ones":; traditionally giants;) were on the earth both in those days (or before the days of the great universal flood) and afterwards, when the sons of God came to the daughters of man (or came to the daughters of men or mankind again after the deluge), who bore children to them.

They were the powerful men of old (or the powerful men from antiquity; possibly proliferating from the offspring of Ham i.e.Nimrod; third in a line of descendants; the first powerful hunter on earth; original African human inhabitants: See Gen.10: 6-11), the famous men (or the influential men from the stock of angel and giant).

These are the family records of the descendants of Adam. On the day that God created man (or Adam), He (or God) made him in the likeness of God (or made him in the likeness of One: The Coming Savior; God in Man); He created them male and female.

He blessed them (or completed a purpose for them) and called them man.

Adam was 130 years old when he fathered a child in his likeness, according to hid image, and named him Seth (or This One Replaces). Adam lived 800 years after the birth of Seth, and he fathered other sons and daughters.
So Adam's life lasted 930 years; then he died.

Now, Seth was 105 years old when he fathered Enosh. Seth lived 807 years after the birth of Enosh, and he fathered other sons and daughters. Seth's life lasted 912 years; then he died.

Enosh was 90 years old when he fathered Kenan. Enosh lived 815 years after the birth of Kenan, and he fathered other sons and daughters. So Enosh's life lasted 905 years; then he died.

Kenan was 70 years old when he fathered Mahalalel. Kenan lived 840 years after the birth of Mahalalel, and he fathered other sons and daughters. So Kenan's life lasted 910 years and then he died.

Mahalalel was 65 years old when he fathered Jared. Mahalalel lived 830 years after the birth of Jared, and he fathered other sons and daughters. So Mahalalel lasted 895 years; then he died.

Jared was 162 years old when he fathered Enoch. Jared lived 800 years after the birth of Enoch, and he fathered other sons and daughters. So Jared's life lasted 962 years; then he died.

Enoch was 65 years when he fathered Methuselah, Enoch walked with God 300 years and fathered other sons and daughters. So Enoch's live lasted 365 years. Enoch walked with God, and he was not there (or Enoch was not there because he was translated to the kingdom of God in the state of the still physical living), because God took him.

Methuselah was 187 years olds when he fathered Lamech. Methuselah lived 782 years after the birth of Lamech, and he fathered other sons and daughters. So Methuselah lasted 969 years; then he died (and was the oldest man who ever lived).

Lamech was 182 years old when he fathered a son. And he named him Noah, saying, "This one will bring us relief (The Hb word translated bring us relief sounds like the name of Noah) from the agonizing labor of our hands, caused by the ground that the LORD has cursed."
Lamech lived 595 years after Noah's birth, and he fathered other sons and daughters. So Lamech's life lasted 777 years; and then he died.

Noah was 500 years old when he fathered Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

My favorite part of Genesis is where God states he gave man the rule of all the heavens and the earth, the seas and the skies and over all His creatures. I've raised allot of different animals from farm livestock to native and exotic wildlife and I can assure you the only thing he gave us he didn't give His other creatures is the gift of creativity. If you don't believe me ask your favorite pet or the "smartest" animal known to paint the Mona Lisa, create the Polio vaccine, send a man to the moon or even design an AR 15. God is great !

Then God said, "Let the water swarm with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth and across the expanse of the sky." So God created the large sea creatures (or created sea monsters of great size, voracity, and unknowable strength; for the man had yet to exist upon the earth in physical form to evaluate them) and every other living creature that moves and thus swarms in the waters, according to their kinds.
God also created every winged bird (or every bird that would ever take flight from a tree or from the ocean) according to its kind.

And God saw that it was good.
So God blessed them (or so God oversupplied their existences to flourish by his power to adapt to the earth's surface), "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters of the seas, and let the birds multiply on the earth."

They are listed in Leviticus 11. The unclean animals are mostly ones that eat trash or anything dead, like a pig or catfish for example.

Do these laws only apply to Jews? Are Christians and others free to eat pork, lobster, etc?

I was addressing subjects brought up by RSR556, and asking serious and respectful questions concerning those subjects.

But, it's only a matter of mild curiosity on my part, so if it truly bugs you that much, I'll drop it.

So the heavens and the earth and everything in them were completed (or completed to carry on with God's awesome and eternal plan).
By the seventh day (Lit creation on the day) God completed His work that He had accomplished, and He rested (or ceased to create by design and master plan) on the seventh day from all His work that He had completed.

God blessed (or God blessed as reckoning His creation to be a permanent situation) the seventh day and declared it holy (or set apart for a day of solemn observance of the LORD God Himself; and a day of restful worship to acknowledge God's glory and goodness in the earth; as God made instrumentally for the man to respect, pay homage, and reverence Him completely throughout the earth), for on it (or for on it therefore) He rested from His work.

Stanc's post was inline with what you had posted, about the animals being brought in by twos. I merely stated that most people don't realize that the clean animals were brought by sevens, and he politely inquired about this. I've seen where you two have had trouble in the past, but when someone genuinely asks a question about a topic, he shouldn't be treated in a disrespectful manner. We are to show patience and love, not haughtiness.

No shrub of the field had yet grown on the land, and no plant of the field had yet sprouted, for the LORD God had not made it rain on the land, and there was no man to work the ground.
But water would come up out of the ground and water the entire surface of the land.

Then the LORD God formed out of the ground each wild animal and each bird of the sky, and brought each to the man (or Adam, the first living man) to see what he would call them.
And whatever he would call a living creature, then that was its name.

He gave names to all of the livestock, to the birds of the sky, and to every wild animal; but for the man no (or no other) helper was found who was like him. So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to come over the man and he slept (or slept because God rendered him unconscious). God then took one of his ribs and closed the flesh at that place.

Then the LORD God made the rib He had taken from the man into a woman and brought her (or presented her) to the man.

And the man said:

No shrub of the field had yet grown on the land (or no initial vegetation or crops for the man had yet to come to be), and no part of the field had not yet sprouted, for the LORD God had not made it rain (or the LORD God had not made in rain until those days were fulfilled and then a great universal flood would occur as God had planned) on the land, and there was no man to work the ground (or to farm and eventually harvest God's crops that he had given to the man for food and materials. And which would cause the man to be healthy and for his livestock to increase, so that the man would prosper in God's timing for him to become self-sufficient; as the man would reason according to the destiny that God had given him to steward from the beginning).

But water would come out of the ground, and water the entire surface of the land (or God would open the inner water chambers of the earth and gently release water on the expanse of the ground looking upward).

Then the LORD God formed the man out of the dust from the ground (or from the earthly elements) and breathed the breath of life into his nostrils, and the man became a living being (or the man became "Adam" from the earth, or man of the earth; or earth man).

The LORD God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there He placed the man that He formed. The LORD God  caused to grow out of the ground every tree pleasing in appearance and good for food, including the tree of life (or the Joshua tree) in the midst of the garden, as well as the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (or the tree of the furthering human experience in the world).

A river went out from Eden (or from Paradise as it is an unchanging eternal place) to water the garden (or to water the garden in the sense of the coming realities for man; a mechanism concerning the events to come on the earth by design. The historical notion here concerning a "River Ocean" to physically explain this great water source is not correct; but cannot be considered to be diametrically opposed to the fact of the one time great oceanic sea, which once existed around a universal super-continent, in both their ages of acute formation and on the earth; existing together at one point in time, i.e. aeons of time passages between them).
From there it divided and became the source of four rivers (or the areas in which the men who would outlive Adam, or age of man, would begin soon after to proliferate on the earth).
The name of the first is Pishon, which encircles* the entire land of Havilah (or a place that had been spiritually overlaid on the earth for a time which contained both physical and spiritual characteristics much more apparent to the purely natural senses than as we know now: Paradise in Earth on Man i.e. the  garden; watered and nourished from Eden).
Gold from that land is pure (Lit good or better than any); bdellium (or  yellowish, transparent gum resin), and onyx (identity of this stone uncertain) are also there.

The name of the second is Gihon, which encircles* the entire land of Cush (or ancient Cush, in the same spiritual formation as Pishon its sister, which still survives partially underground for man's use to this very day in Jerusalem and with a great history behind it as it has been redirected or spiritually translated there to some degree for the historical benefit of Israel, and Judah, to this very day and is pure with historical claims of healing the infirmed, and other spiritual uses and ceremony also).

The name of the third is the Tigris, which flow to the east of Assyria (physically existent today). And the fourth river is the Euphrates (physically existent today).

Where do you get Joshua tree from?

From the fact that the "Tree of Life" contains among other things, the rudiments that God has always factored in for a plan of salvation potentially for the all of mankind. This knowledge is eternal and is bound by blood or the act of redemption of a kinsman upon a blood relative and is legally binding by the Law of God under these particular type circumstances of exchange.
In this case our "Family Redeemer" is the eternal Jesus Christ for us.
Christ died for us who will eternally be alive with Him forever because He died for us on a special cross so that by Christ's death on it, then this unconventional act would bear us up and so that we might have salvation through Him, and the forgiveness, love, and compassion, that only God can show us in this way because of what Jesus has eternally done for us making us a victor and champions of faith with Him.

The word of God or the Christian Bible proclaims that, "cursed is every man who hangs from a tree."

That tree, which produces eternal live in Jesus' physical death so that we might eternally live and show others this path of righteousness that only God can provide for any of us is this tree!

In the metaphysical reality also, it is that tree which Jesus (or Joshua: a YHWH designation of the Name) died on is in the spiritual realm is manifest, "The Tree of Life" as it is seen that way, in Christ, or in Him in the beauty, majesty, and the awesome act of His sacrifice in which its beauty and appeal have no rival from any other source, say for example, "The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil or any other.

Thus the Joshua Tree in its beauty, honor, and very great majesty forever!

God never let Adam have access to that One.

First time that I have ever heard of that.

The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat the fruit of the trees in the garden.
But about the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden, God said, 'You must not eat it or touch it, or you will die.' "

"No!
You will not die," the serpent told the woman.
"In fact, God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened and then you will be like God knowing good and evil."
Then the woman saw that the tree was good for food and delightful to look at, and was desirable for obtaining wisdom.
So she took some of the fruit and ate it; then she took some of it and gave it to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.
Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and the knew that they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made loincloths for themselves.

The Temptation and the Fall

Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden at the time of the evening breeze (Lit at the wind of the day or at the time of mixing), and they hid themselves from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. So the LORD God called out to the man and said to him, "Where are you?'' And he said, "I heard You in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked (or because Adam had lost the spiritual covering which had covered his transgressions, now knowing evil; and having no power or protection over it as earthly good is not good enough to overcome evil as God does), so I hid.

Then God asked, "Who told you that you were naked? Did you eat from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?" Then the man (or now Adam Kadmon i.e. fallen man of the earth) replied, "The woman that You gave to be with me------she gave me some fruit from the tree and I ate." So then the LORD God asked the woman, "So what is this that you have done?" And the woman said, "It was the serpent. He deceived me, and I ate."

Then the LORD God said to the serpent (or to this fallen angel Lucifer and now Satan in his earthly position):

Because you have done this
you are cursed more than
any livestock (or you will be
thrown out without a grave)
and more than any wild
animal. You will move on your
belly and eat dust all the days
of your life (or all the days of
your life until final judgment
you will be bound to the earth).
I will put hostility between you
and the woman, and between
your seed (or the Nephilim i.e.
giants for God's people to
eradicate along with all who
oppose God), and her seed. He

(as in a blow of death), and you
will strike his heel (or strike his
heel but only with an intensity that
is not unto death).

The Consequences of Sin: Adam and Eve Cursed by God for Disobediance

He (or God) said to the woman: I will intensify your labor pains; you will bear children in anguish (or in the reverse of what child bearing was meant to be without pain and labor children in great joy). Your desire will be for your husband (or your natural inclination about your husband will be to be equal as a covenant partner with him), yet he will dominate you (or yet now the serpent will pact with the man against you, just as you have done against the man already; and then ultimately you and the man against God together; so that God might destroy you both and thus break the word, as it has been eternally written, so that the serpent might escape altogether without judgment coming upon him).

And He (or God) said to Adam, "Because you have listened to your wife's voice and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, 'Do not eat from it': The ground is cursed because of you. You will eat from it by means of painful labor (Lit it through pain) all of the days of your life. It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field. You will eat bread (or will sustain yourselves with food) by the sweat of your brow until you return to the ground, since you were taken from it.

For you are but dust, and you will return to dust."

Adam then named his wife Eve (Lit Living, or life) because she was the mother of all living. The LORD God made clothing out of animal skins for Adam and his wife, and then He clothed them. The LORD God said, "Since man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil, he must not reach out (or must not endeavor to know just yet), and also take from the tree of life (or knowledge concerning the man's future), and eat, and then live forever (or to live in a progressively more evil state from within the man; and live forever in torment by God's judgment upon the man to obey His Statutes, Laws, and Precepts with strict obedience, and executed with nothing less than perfection in less than an instant; as God does in the eternal state of being, and at all times, and in the earth as man now cannot do; because the man now has the knowledge on how to effectively rebel against God; even unto his physical death as his reward but not knowing why; because of the curse on him by God; which took knowledge away from the man by those spiritual impediments now on the man)."

So the LORD God sent Adam away from the garden of Eden (or sent them away by removing Paradise from them and back to God) to work the ground from which he was taken. He drove man out, and east of the garden of Eden God stationed cherubim (or military angels) with a flaming, whirling sword (or the word of God; not swords, but sword which projects itself out in all directions) to guard the way of the tree of life (or to guard the way of the tree of life which is located near the throne of God in heaven because of the removal of the spiritual man, and the rebelling angels from heaven; and away from the LORD God of Hosts, all for seditious acts against Him in heaven: The Rebellion; the kingdom of God).

Adam knew his wife intimately and she conceived and gave birth to Cain, she said, "I have had a male child with the LORD's help (or with a word or phrase of words which sounded like or contained the word or utterance "Cain")." Then she also gave birth to his brother Abel. Now Abel became a shepherd of a flock, but Cain cultivated the land. So in the course of time Cain presented some of the produce of the land as an offering to the LORD. And Abel also presented an offering------some of the first born of his flock and their fat portions (or fat portions according to a pleasant sacrifice on a burning alter). The LORD had regard for Abel and his offering, but he did not have regard for Cain and his offering.

Cain was furious and he was downcast.

But, if you do not do what is right, then sin is crouching at the door (or sin is seeking to take control of your conscience and will win).

So some time latter Cain said to his brother Abel, "Let's go out into the field."
And while they were out there in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.

Then the LORD said to Cain, "Where is your brother Abel?" "I don't know," he replied. "Am I my brother's guardian (or keeper)?" Then the LORD God said to Cain, "What is this that you have done? Your brother's blood cries out to Me from the ground! So now you have been cursed with alienation (or now have received alienation as you payment for murder) from the ground that opened up its mouth to receive your brothers blood that you have shed. So if you work the land, it will never again give you its yield. You will be a restless wanderer on the earth."

But Cain answered the LORD, "My punishment (or my sin) is too great to bear! Since You are banishing me today from the soil, I must now hide myself from Your presence and become a restless wanderer on the earth, so now whoever finds me will kill me." Then the LORD replied to him, "In that case then, whoever kills Cain will suffer vengeance seven times over (or suffer severely for their offense against Cain)."
So God placed a mark (or a mark of distinction) on Cain so whoever found him (or found him human or spiritual creature alike) would not kill (or kill or maim) him.Then Cain went out from the LORD's presence and lived in the land of Nod, east of Eden.

Cain was intimate with his wife, and she conceived and gave birth to Enoch. Then Cain became the builder of a city, and he named the city Enoch after his son. Irad was born to Enoch, Irad fathered Mehujael, Mehujael fathered Methushael, and Methushael fathered Lamech. Lamech took two wives for himself, one named Adah and the other named Zillah. Adah bore Jabal; he was the father of the nomadic herdsmen. His brother was named Jubal; he was the father of all who play the lyre and the flute. Zillah bore Tubal-cain, who made all kinds of bronze and iron tools. Tubal-cain’s sister was Naamah.

Lamech said to his wives:
Adah and Zillah, hear my voice;
wives of Lamech, pay attention to my words.

For I killed a man for wounding me,
a young man for striking me.
If Cain is to be avenged seven times over,
then for Lamech it will be seventy-seven times!

Adam was intimate with his wife again, and she gave birth to a son and named him Seth, for she said, “God has givent me another child in place of Abel, since Cain killed him.” A son was born to Seth also, and he named him Enosh. At that time people began to call on the name of Yahweh.

So these are the family records of the descendants of Adam. On the day that God created man, He made him in the likeness of God; He created them male and female. When they were created, he blessed them and called them man (or Adam or earthly people).

Adam was 130 years old when he fathered a child in his likeness, according to his image, and named him Seth. Adam lived 800 years after the birth of Seth, and he fathered other sons and daughters. So, Adams life lasted (or physical self) 930 years; then he died (or  then he physically died).

Seth was 105 years old when he fathered Enosh. Seth lived 807 years after the birth of Enosh, and he fathered other sons and daughters. So Seth's life lasted 912 years; then he died.

Enosh was 90 years old when he fathered Kenan. Enosh lived 815 years after the birth of Kenan, and he fathered other sons and daughters.

So Enosh's life lasted 905 years; and then he died. Kenan was 70 years old when he fathered Mahalalel.

Now Mahalalel was 65 years old when he fathered Jared. Mahalalel lived 830 years after the birth of Jared and fathered other sons and daughters.
So Mahalalel's life lasted 895 years; and then he died.

Jared was 162 years old when he fathered Enoch, Jared lived 800 years after the birth of Enoch, and he fathered other sons and daughters. So Jared's life lasted 962 years; and then he died.
Enoch was 65 years old when he fathered Methuselah. And after the birth of Methuselah, Enoch walked with God 300 years and fathered sons and daughters. So Enoch's life lasted 365 years.
Enoch walked with God, and then he was not there, because God took him.

Methuselah was 187 years old when he fathered Lamech. Methuselah lived 782 years after the birth of Lamech, and fathered other sons and daughters. So Methuselah's life lasted 969 years (or has lived the longest life of any human being to this very day); then he died.

Lamech was 182 years old when he fathered a son. And he named him Noah, saying, "This one will bring us relief (The Hb word translated bring us relief sounds like the name of Noah) from the agonizing labor of our hands, caused by the ground the LORD has cursed." Lamech lived 595 years after Noah's birth, and he fathered other sons and daughters. So Lamech's life lasted 777 years; then he died.

Noah was 500 years old, and he fathered Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

When mankind began to multiply on the earth and daughters were born to them, the sons of God (or fallen angels placed on the earth back in those days) saw that the daughters of man (or the human woman) were beautiful (or were beholding to the eye), and they took any (or took any according to any means available) as they chose as wives (or concubines or slaves), for themselves. And the LORD said, "My Spirit will not remain (or remain to strive peacefully) with mankind forever, because they are corrupt (or because they are now worthy of not living any longer according to the flesh and its ways). Their days (or from now on their lifespans will be reduced except due to special circumstances according to God's glory) will be 120 years.

Sons of God and Daughters of Men

The Nephilim ("fallen ones" traditionally giants) were on the earth both in those days and afterwards (or before and after the great flood), when the sons of God (or fallen angels; demonic entities operating in the physical realm) came to the daughters of man, who bore children to them.

They were the powerful men of old (or of ancient times on the earth), the famous men (or the men of renown; or the men who had the capability of greatly influencing  ordinary or the typical men of those times).

So when the LORD saw that man's wickedness was widespread on the earth and that every scheme his mind thought of was nothing but evil (or lawlessness) all of the time, so the Lord regretted that He had made man (or by the way He regretted watching man degrade himself in his sin, waxing worse on all occasions to his demise and degradation) on the earth (or on the earth as it too was corrupt and imperfect like the man and in retrograde), and He grieved in His heart.
