I sold my Rogue Deep Dish plate set after coming across this deal.
520 lb set of 12-sided US-made Iron Grip plates from the 1990s - all steel (no urethane coating) and in good condition. Includes six each of 45/25s/10s/5s and four 2.5s. I paid 50 cents/lb and picked each plate out individually. " /> " /> " /> |

One of the joys about not lifting at public gyms with cheap bars/plates. I’ve got cheap Standard Plates, but they fit pretty snug on my Ohio Power Bar. I’m wondering why he decided to get rid of the deep dish plates. I get you found a deal, but was that the only reason you got rid of the Rogue Deep dish for these Iron Grips? I’ve considered getting some Deep dish eventually, is there something I should know about, other than they scratch easier with the E-coat? Truthfully, my 550lbs of “cheap” standard plate are more than sufficient for me probably for life. But, just like guns, we want the next “best thing” sometimes just because of how it makes us feel inside. |

Nothing wrong with the Rogue plates - but the all-steel Iron Grip plates have always been my favorite. When I found a local gym upgrading to new plates (made in China, I might add) and selling these for a song, I jumped on them.
I'm stubborn about using US-made equipment wherever I can, so that was a primary driver in purchasing the deep dish plates in the first place. I've had plates in the past that had as much as a 5 lb variation in a 45 pounder - quality plates are just hard to find these days. The Iron Grips checked all the boxes and I just prefer the 12-sided design and have no issue with using them off the floor. Also, the handles are great for all types of lifts using just the plates themselves. I'm 51 and have been in uniform 25 years with 5 deployments - also, I had lumbar spinal fusion 15 months ago and my knees are shot. I'm in no danger of replacing the latest CrossFit athlete or winning Mr. Olympia - I'm lucky to get out of bed in the morning and feel halfway decent. No more heavy deads/squats or any type of lift that loads the spine, so the Iron Grips are more than enough for me. At the end of the day, I ended up with more poundage in an American-made design that I favor - and, I made enough cash on the deal to fund a new pistol. Winner, winner, chicken dinner. |

Glad you’re doing better after your spinal fusion! Take it easy and don’t go to crazy lifting! |

One more thing regarding the Rogue plates - I had to send back several of them due to shipping damage. The finish isn't delicate, but between the way they are packed and the resident Gorillas at UPS Ground, they take a beating in transit.
They made it right, but it took a while. |

It’s totally last on my list to pick up. I’ve got some other things on the “pick up list” before these. Honestly as of right now I can pretty much do anything I want to do muscle group wise with what I have. I have a few “wants” to make those things easier to do, and more convenient. Like I want to add a cardio option. I already have what I want picked out, just need to get it when I can. Then if I can make more space some how, I want to add in an actual leg extension/curl machine (plate loaded) so I can stop using my ankle strip. It would also be nice to pick up a legit lat pull down, vs doing them off of my cable stations. I’d get those and some other accessories first. |

This thread is awesome! My current humble home setup. A Titan rack and plates with a Rogue bar, and bells of steel dumbell handles. I have a Titan cable tower on the way so I'm excited to add that for some variation. I also have a piece of plywood and another horse stall mat to build a deadlift platform with.

Picked up some new gear from marketplace over the weekend. Power cage, old York Barbell, 420 lbs of assorted plates with a rack, 30 lb, 40 lb, and assorted other dumbbells, an EZ curl bar, and an old Reebok bench. Not the deal of the century, but not bad for $500. The 30/40 lb dumbbells are duplicates, so I'll probably donate those to our work gym, and I'll keep the smaller ones for my 2 year old to "work out" with.

I’m sure you will make some adjustments over the next few months as you use it and figure out the best flow for your setup. What was your first workout done with it? Just finished dragging it all around this morning and getting the cage set up at the right levels, so I haven’t done anything too strenuous yet. I did do 3 sets of 10 squats at 145 lbs while I was setting it up just for shits and grins. Dips and pull-ups too. I’ll work out this afternoon when I get to work with one of my coworkers. What got my wife to support the purchase of the cage setup was she’s been complaining I’ve lost my ass since I’ve lost a bunch of weight. I told her “it’s for the booty babe”. I need to follow a more well rounded program though. For the last few years I’ve had an issue with the muscles in my upper back from doing too much pressing over the years, so I started doing a lot more pulls to try and offset it. Then developed tennis elbow. Starting to get that straightened out, so looking to do something a little more balanced. My wife paid for a Beach Body subscription, so I’ll probably do one of their programs while I’m getting started back up, unless anybody has any better ideas for a program. |

Glad to hear about the positive changes you’ve been making, despite losing the booty your wife loves LoL. It will come back! Sounds like you’ve got a good understanding of where you need to go from here! Back in the day before I really got into lifting I did P90X and then insanity. I liked both! I don’t really follow many programs these days. However, nothing wrong with it! I just like to go in, zone out with my headphones on and lift whatever muscle group Im doing that day. With that said I’ve heard a lot of the programs from “Mind Pump” are pretty good. Plus all the 5x5 programs that are out there. It just all depends on what you’re looking to do. I followed a couple from Bodybuilding.com a few years back and I liked them. Maybe I’ll get back into some sort of programming again. I just like to do my own stuff.
Keep after it my man! You have all the tools you need, now it’s up to you to put it to use and hone your skills. |

Do any of you regret getting a 36" rack depth instead of going with 48" or similar? Tired of the crowd at the gym so I'm about to start building the home gym. 36" seems small, but I can't think of why I'd actually need more space. I expect to be doing deadlifts, squats, bench, ohp... stuff like that.

If you have the extra space, get the weight storage posts, so much more efficient than using a weight tree. Also, if you ever decide to get the lat/row attachment, it won't intrude into the lifting space. |

36” depth? Check your privilege. I lift inside a rack with a 24” depth.
Definitely feels cramped, but it hasn’t ever actually impeded any movements. Well, assuming I don’t back up too far after unracking for squats. Once we move to a bigger place, I’m probably gonna give my current rack to my nephew and go bigger. Definitely wanting a 6 post rack for the weight storage and possible lat pull down as mentioned earlier. |

Should I even bother with stall mats if I'm doing this in a carpeted room? I'm doing this in my living room so there's already carpet. It's not in the best shape, but I'm not quite ready to tear it all out. Would it even feel solid to put a mat on carpet? I might do plywood + mat but... plywood ain't cheap right now.
FYI Costco has the Inspire FTX on their website for 1100. Not sure if there are maybe different variations of that, but it looks like a good price. I'm not quite ready for that yet, but maybe one day. |

This is LITERALLY what it’s about!!!! You’re setting him up for awesome life showing him how to live a healthier life style! I love when my daughter begs to workout with me! Our kids see us working out and making our health a priority. Yeah, we may fall off the wagon at times, but they see us making those changes and correcting when needed. We aren’t just doing it for us, we are doing it for them as well.

Nice job. And a squat jerk! I don't want to teach him to much too early, he already kicks the shit out of me at two years old. I bought that dowel for him to have a "barbell". I was doing a set of skull crushers and took the dowel across the forehead lol. Tomorrow I'm going to screw a frisbee to each end of it so he can have some "plates", and it will be a little more unwieldy as a weapon for him. |

There are hundreds of reasons to own a gun but it’s mostly the reasons I can't think of that make me glad to have them.

There. A couple screws, some washers, some Frisbees we already had, and a dowel. Now my kids can pick up heavy things and put them down

I'm jealous of you guys getting your gyms setup with new stuff.
My gym is basically done, in the sense that I have no more room for anything else, so I'm living viciously through you guys getting new and exciting stuff to setup. |

Loving it except I tweaked my back last week so I'm on the go-slow for a little bit. View Quote I know dedicated pieces tend to be superior. But rack attachments actually do a decent job of replacing dips/vkr/pullups. |

Picked up a “beater bar” and landmine attachment. Love it!!! Used to only use the one at the gym for V-bar rows. However, now that I have one I’ve been using it for a ton of other movements and it’s awesome! Especially for leg days! Now I can do a “landmine hack squat” since I don’t have room for a leg press/hack squats combo at this point in time.
Attached File Attached File It is causing a wear mark on the upright, so I might have to get some sort of washer in there. However, the “damage” is done. Im not upset, just wish it came with something to prevent the rubbing. Now I need some t-bar or v-bar attachments. Anyone else have a Landmine, what attachments do you have and how much do you utilize it? |

I’ve heard of the “back widow” but for the price holy cow, probably not going to happen. Titan has a “knock off” of a attachment called the “Linebacker” that looked interesting. |
