Oh I'm going to this. Bringing the girlfriend too.
What should we bring, if anything? An AR-15 and some loaded mags for the shooting competition? Or will that type of thing be provided? |
|
SAW INC will be there. We will have silencers from GEMTECH, SILENCERCO, SUREFIRE AND THUNDERBEAST. We will have a demo unit to test fire, and ammo you can purchase at wholesale pricing for this purpose. SAW will be offering ZERO DOWN PAYMENT ON ALL SILENCERS!!!!!!!!! That's right, ZERO down payment! Trust document assistance also available at extremely discounted pricing! Also a few subguns will be present for purchase. Call our store if you have any questions!

this sounds cool. I'm in but have a few questions so I know what to bring.
wondering what is the max range? is fmj ok for shooting? are suppressors allowed? Can we shoot our own targets or only range's? |

SONOFABITCH!!!!!!
I have to go to effing Austin on the 25th to a party for the wifes best friend. Take plenty of good photos and pray for me. |

What gun is she holding in the pic? It looks like a 9mm UMP, but I don't think it is
|

Nice!
That picture - seriously - that needs to go. I'd like more details as well...... Bring your own weapons and ammo? What kind of shooting competitions? Open range time or totally vendor driven ranges with their guns and their ammo? |
|
|
Do we need to bring our own firearms? Like pistols, ARs, ammo?
|

Quoted: Working on details. Will post ASAP. View Quote Be sure to address the following questions: 1. Should I be loading mags and bringing guns? 2. If we're bringing our own guns and ammo, then are there restrictions? Machine guns? .50's? Types of ammo (steel core? lead only?) 3. Should I be bringing cash to buy stuff that I can't live without? 4. Can we bring stuff to sell or trade? |

Questions and Answers:
Some questions seem to be related more to our range, and less about the event, so I will answer both. Attendee Weapons Ammo restrictions: For this event, you can bring your own weapons. They will be made safe at the entrance, and prior to competing, you can break them out. Each event will have rules posted. You can also bring your own ammo. We will also have ammo on hand if you run out. Pistols under .50 caliber. No full-auto for this event. Carbine calibers only. No tracers or any other round that can potentially catch fire to our property. RESTRICTIONS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT ENTRANCE. WE HAVE FINAL SAY AT THE ENTRANCE. Cash / Payments / Pricing Bring cash for food (our food is not over-priced, $2.00 dogs, $3.00 burgers, etc). Bring money for raffle tickets, entry fees to competitions, and of course, buying products. We will also accept all credit cards. Competitions We will have various competitions. We will have some three gun, some dueling-tree action pistol style, and some shotgun only, carbine only, and pistol only competitions. Vendors will have their own lanes to promote their products. Keep in mind, this is for fun and not for rankings. It is mainly to introduce our range, local vendors, and have a great time on the range. Max range for the range is 300 yards. For this event, we will have ranges setup at shorter distances to accommodate the crowds. Expect max distance of 50 yards. Rules You can carry concealed at the range…your concealed pistol must stay concealed. FMJ are allowed at our range. Suppressors are allowed at our range. Yes, you can bring your own targets. Trading and selling of products will be limited to vendors for this event. We are considering setting up a trade table. Will post on website if we decide to do it. Vendors The vendor list is being updated, and a link will provided on our website. Hope that answers alot of the questions |

I am assuming for the 3-gun below - this means we can and should bring our own 5.56 rifles, pistol, and shotguns for that event, correct? Competitions

Who is working to make this event a success? Arock? So what have you done lately to grow and develop 2A participation through events like this??? What's that you say, I can't hear you????? Go shit somewhere else, pal. Uh, try to find out details of what is or is not allowed so I know what to bring? Contact my friends and other FFL/SOT to coordinate what we bring so folks like YOU can shoot free of charge? Hard to do with out details though. Uzi, M16, AK-47, Tommy Gun, MP5, SAW, Glock 18C, Belt Feds, Grease Gun, MACs, SAW, etc? Good thing I asked, as now we know there is no F/A. No problem, I have dozens of silencers, SBRs, 5 thermal scopes to try out, UAV, etc. So let us compare what I have done to what you have done: Post #1: I will give it a visit. Always up for anything outdoors and involving guns and stuff. Post #2: Be there or be square. |

Guys- working on getting details. Let's not get on each other about this.
This is a new opportunity, with a range we have not used before, and we're putting this together in a short time period so bear with us on the details. The goal is to get out there at least one more time this year and burn some powder with friends, as well as check out some cool stuff. Will get much more info tomorrow as I did not have a chance to make a phone call today. Will post as soon as I get it. ARock may or may not be involved, but he's not far away... |

Son of a ...... I have to work.
This is like 2 miles from me....... |

It seems pretty clear we'll find out what vendors are there and the event schedule when we walk through the gate on saturday. I'll probably still give ARFCOM the benefit of the doubt that it won't be a complete waste of $10 and go, but the silence from all parties involved in this is disappointing.
|
|
I'd be there, but 10 days notice wasn't enough for a weekend trip.

View Quote Just got back from checking out the range. Not sure how many vendors are going to be there, but if anyone is interested in setting up, they said they would welcome more. There will be a few different shooting events from what I saw; I'm told you could shoot your own guns (rifle and pistol, no shotgun stages). There will be dedicated .22 steel area, and we'll have both a place to shoot some of our rifles (50yds) and another to shoot our 3Gun Glock vs a standard G34. Besides that, no one was there yet, and so I saw nothing else set up yet except a berm where they'll have exploding targets. I know this was a very short notice event, and it is a first time for it, and at a new range, so while I wouldn't expect it to be the be-all-end-all event of the century, any chance to get out and burn some powder on a nice day is a good day in my book. If there are any requests/ideas, I'm sure they're open to suggestions; let's hear them. |
|
I forgot about .22! A steel setup for .22 sounds awesome.
Looking forward to it. |
|
Note to add- regarding the "carbine calibers" posted prior, the goal was to say not meant for high-power rifle long range rounds; short ranges with mostly steel targets, so no need for your 1000yd+ precision rifles or 50BMGs. Obviously 5.56, 300BLK, 7.62x39, etc are all ok. Again, ranges are short, most ~50yds.

So this "raffle" business. Is that at 6:00? Noon? I'm coming, but if I don't need to be there for nine hours I'd just like to know when that's going on. Thanks.

ETA: I just saw on the website that the raffle tickets are sold out. Is that true, or will they be available for purchase at the event? View Quote Should not need to be present to win, but what do I know... same goes for onsite availability. I do know we'll be doing a separate raffle for Glock slide machining, available onsite. |
