FUNDRAISER: Special Operations Axe

As all of you know, there are certain individuals that put their lives on the line for our benefit day in and day out with little recognition. They are not sitting in some air conditioned room, thousands of miles from the war, watching it on TV. These individuals take the war to our enemy's doorstep in order to keep it far from ours. They do not ask for money, fame, or any other rewards, and they make the ultimate sacrifice so that you and I can go about our daily lives without fear.
Once in a while we have a chance to do something to show our appreciation for all that they do. Last year we held a fundraiser to equip these warriors with a special combat axe. I was there when we presented them to several of the guys, and these same guys this week have once again done their job far from home so that the rest of us will not have to face terrorism.
In appreciation, we are once again holding a fundraiser for the Special Operations Teams. For anyone that was not a part of the first one, here is some information:
For the past few years, Master Bladesmith Dan Winkler has been engaged in a program that directly assists our serving Special Forces Operators. Since the beginning of operations in the Gulf, Dan has been making a "Breaching/Combat Axe” that has become the "signature” of one’s Unit identity and serves as a functional weapon used in the defense of freedom.
All money raised will go directly to the purchase of these Breaching/Combat Axes on behalf of those Operator’s serving in our most elite units. This is a unique opportunity for those of us here at ARFCOM to directly assist our forces while in combat operations.




Your donation will make you eligible for one of two axes provided as prizes. Dan Winkler will  engrave the date and perhaps some other markings (pending permission) to commemorate the event and make this a truly spectacular offering. In addition to the axe, he will be crafting a display case so that the axe may be wall mounted. This one of a kind prize is an awesome incentive, but pales in comparison to being able to do something to thank those individuals who wage war around the world so that we may live in peace.
