Hard Target is a local training group in the Evansville Indiana area.
Class started with a safety briefing and an overview of what the class would be covering. Moved to the range while the sun was starting to set and began with close range drills to warm up and give instructors to observe students. Draw and fire single shot with both hands, Draw and fire strong hand only, Starting from low ready and fire using support hand. This was repeated several times with emphasis on strong hand only since students would be using support hand for flashlight.
Instructors then covered different methods of holding light while firing including using support hand to brace the strong hand. This was followed be practice of the different methods.
Instructors then went over using the light for search and transitioning to a firing position.
Next drills covered this and acquiring targets and firing while moving
Next drills included firing at multiple targets as called out by the instructor while students were moving laterally along the line searching for targets (these drills were ran two students at a time with each shadowed by an instructor.
Final drills were shooting using a VTAC barricade and manipulating the light in order to see both the target and your sights. Students with weapon lights were allowed to use them on this drill.
Overall:
Excellent instructors, very safety conscious, made sure to explain why you were doing the drills as well as how to do them.
