When do we apply our preemergent crab grass treatment?  Its got to be soon, Im guessing.  Thanks.

I applied mine two weeks ago.  From what I read you want to apply it before the ground hits 50 degrees.

At that temperature the weeds will germinate or something.

Jeez. My upstate property (north of I-90) still has big swaths of snow in the yard.

Downstate the leaves are almost ready to fall!

Forsythias begin to bloom when soil temp's reach approx. 52 degrees.  That is your signal to apply a preemergent crab grass control.
