Saw a reference in the Arfcom newsletter and was wondering if you guys have seen this:
http://www.defensereview.com/patriot-ordnance-factory-pof-usa-revolt-light-5-56mm-nato-223-rem-and-revolt-heavy-7-62mm-nato-308-win-dmr-type-straight-pull-fast-action-tactical-ar-riflecarbines-range-video/
Looks interesting, but EXPENSIVE!

Edited to fix title (name of company)

Sometimes anything you can do to send a clear "fuck-you" to those who would oppress is worth the cost.
Sans the autoloading feature, it should be everything any ar-10 would be.

eta: I take that back. Search for "POF Revolt" and you'll find a few places selling them.

Little to rich for my blood.  I would rather get a cheap complete upper and weld the gas port shut.

Edit: wrong one.

You want a straight pull action in a nice rifle with match grade surplus ammo. Buy a K31.

Have you ever tried to manually open the bolt on an AR-10 not fitted with a gas tube?

So  one of these uppers  can go on an unregistered complete lower and be compliant  As long as I'm using 10 rd mags loaded to only 7 rds correct?

By the letter of the law, yes.

But is that how law enforcement works in NY?  Question of the day.

Also, to be on the safe side, you better have your unregistered semi-upper (if applicable) about 38 zip codes away from that lower.

Your question is one that would not even need to be asked if we lived in a sane place where the law is clear and compliance is obvious, as in most free part of America.

That's a lot of money for a bolt upper.  BCM Ambi CH + removal of gas tube + flip around gas block (to cover port) will be similar.

What if you don't put a gasblock on the barrel at all?  Will the gas coming out of the gas port cause any kind of problems, or just dirty your handguard?

I'm thinking just a slight loss in velocity, but probably not much compared to an in-tact gas system.  I just prefer not to have hot gas being shot inside the freefloat tube.

It's no easier to modify back to semi than it is to put a tapco stock on a 10/22 to make it illegal.
