Both of which said they would never go back to NY for a variety of reasons, but spoke of Taxes/weather/gun laws/jobs in about that order.

Unlike a lot of folks, I liked NY. I liked living in NYC. However, the cost of living just became... prohibitive.

I have a long term exodus plan luckily my wife and I are in highly skilled professional jobs where the head hunters come to us and we can pick pretty much any of the other states and get jobs in a snap. My only thing holding me back are friends and family.

Congrats on escaping the Gulag!  Leave the NY attitude at the border and you will do fine.  Southerners really really dislike hearing "we did it different in NY" unless you are talking about snow removal.

Oh, and you better pretend you like grits.

Grits, made properly, are fucking awesome!

When I moved south, we went to a small diner for breakfast.  Decided to try grits for the first time.  And damn, they were delicious.

Best ones I've ever had so far were in SC.

Quick grits story.  I was riding down to Myrtle Beach for the Bike Rally with some buddies.  One guy riding with us was from Massachusetts and had never been south of New Jersey.  We stopped at a greasy spoon in NC for gas for the bikes and some breakfast for us.  He orders sausage and eggs or some such thing from the menu and the waitress brings him his order with a big puddle or runny grits on the plate.  He takes one look at the grits and asks "why is there a giant puddle of elephant cum on my plate"?  I laughed so hard I almost pissed myself.  Needless to say he specified no grits whenever he ordered thereafter.

I know, cool story bro.

Working on it.

Have to decide what I want to keep and move and what I want to dump, like all of my 10 round mags!  Stuff should hit the EE in a couple weeks.

Isn't it still standing behind the ex-HQ??

Actually it will be used in GA in October for a GAHTF shooting event.  This time it will be erected before any alcohol is consumed.

Cool, so it should look way worse than before... Shouldn't you have to get at least similarly drunk so you can remember how it goes together?  Something like Drunken Recollection.

I have used it since that day.  It's not to bad to set up if you have all brain cells working properly.  That was only the second time I had used that particular tent, and getting drunk before attempting to set it up wasn't the best idea I ever had.  It did amuse the masses though and made a great thread.
