I'll be in San Antonio next week for training at Fort Sam Houston. I haven't been there since the early 90's and went to the Alamo, river walk and a few other things then. Any recommendations for a must stop at gun store or other must do stuff for a few hours in the evening? (hotel is near the airport, would prefer to have something fairly close.

Not that I can think of no.  It's traffic HELL compared to what you remember.  Going anywhere but to dinner near your hotel is not advised.
