Hey fellas,

I posted a while back about picking up my first 1911. I eventually settled on the Springfield Range Officer, and recently purchased the Heinie Ledge straight 8 set. Rifle Gear in Plano gave me a heck of a deal, but unfortunately they can't install 1911 sights at their location. Can anyone recommend a smith to do the install? I have heard it is quite easy, but I do not have the tools to do it and would rather just have a smith do it anyway most likely. Knowing me I'll rush and break a tritium vial or something. Thanks in advance.

Also, North Dallas/far East Plano but can travel a bit if necessary.

He's across town from you, but you won't find a finer 1911-smith in north Texas than Dave Gregor at Advanced Gunworks in Roanoke

Also used Frisco Gun Glub gunsmith. Forget the guys name, but sightes were dead on afterwards.

Dave, the gunsmith at Elk Castle in Ft. Worth is very very good and does lots of 1911 work.

My kid used to work there and has seen his work first hand.
