Meeting a bud who's itching to pop his 1911 cherry, and finger fondle some of the table goodies. He thinks he'll find a low-end STI, but I'm trying to be the realistic voice advising a SA RO may be more to his liking.

If Premier Armory is there, they may have a Trojan or Spartan for sale. I saw them last week in Lewisville, and have a Spartan 5 I bought from them about a year ago.

Market Hall has always been my favorite.
Hopefully it treats me as well as it usually does.

Went today.  Not as many tables as prior shows and not overly crowded.  One vendor had a crate full of tall 50s (3 for 30) which you don't see for that price or frequency.

4lb jug of Tite group for $100? YES. 1k primers of every flavor $28-32? HELL YES!! Those were my big scores. A guy had an HK marked Benelli M3 for $1250 that I really wanted but was non-negotiable on price. Saw 3 Gweher 43s on one table, that was cool.

Why?

I've gone to many looking for one thing and coming back with another.  If looking for things you can easily get online for cheap, I might agree, but you have to understand that many gun guys still haven't discovered the Internet and what they know about it, they don't follow that well.  I've walked up to many tables of what most would consider scraps and walked away with gems.  Cash talks and you actually are able to verify what you are purchasing is real and can walk out with it in hand.  I've walked out many shows with nothing in my hands but there have been many instances where I've found some extremely hard-to-find items and bargains.  Unless you are (or are friends with) a guy with an FFL/SOT who has access to a great network, these shows can be worth the attendance.

Again, to many of us this is a hobby, but there are plenty of guys that have no problems with putting down $$$$$ on things they know nothing about.

I hate having to pay to shop when I know what I want and can get it online for usually cheaper.

That being said, I would still go to a gun show if it is convenient for me.

If you're going to "get something you need"...then it may be.

Otherwise they can be great entertainment , and as others have said, the occasional / unexpected gem or bargain is nice.

I went this after noon. I only go to the shows anymore to treasure hunt. Picked up four AK magazines; two Hungarian, one Polish, and one East German. Also picked up an old Russian coin from a vendor on the north side and a few morale patches.

I went Saturday and glad I did, picked up some 300 blk out ammo and a new switch blade.

Defiantly worth it!

Definetly gems. Lots of old vendors don't want to mess around with online sales so they only go to gunshows. Just walking around one time I saw a brand new HK93 handguard in OD green, I confirmed with the guy that it was what I said and how much, he said YEP, and because you know what it is...$30. Normally those are $90+. Try that online.
