I'm staying in Stafford Va for the week for training at Quantico.  We rented a car but wondered if it would make sense to drive to Springfield after class and just take the Metro in to DC for dinner and messing around.  Is that a reasonable?  Or should we just drive all the way in?

Sorry about the big font, I'll fix it when I get to the hotel.

Not a bad plan at all.  Good way to avoid the traffic and hot mess that is parking in DC.

I'll make a shameless plug for the restaurants in Old Town Alexandria.  If the scheduling is right I might be able to buy you a beer.

Metro closes at midnight week days and at 3am fri/sat. Plan accordingly. Cabs are expensive and slummies are out at night.

I've had good experience using Uber in Nova and DC.  All drivers get background checks and it's usually cheaper then a cab.
