It seems like geese have good breast meat, provided you prepare them properly.  So how does hunting them work in Idaho?

Three ways to hunt any kind of goose.

1)  Over decoys - They come into the decoys (on their own, or calling them in), you shoot them.  Typically, set-up in areas where they have previously been feeding.  Be careful that you are not hunting over a field that can be considered baiting.
2)  Jump shooting - My favorite type of hunting.  Do a sneak on some in a field, or in a pond, or on a river.  Fun stuff.
3)  Pass shooting - Figure out where they are flying from and where they are landing, then find a spot near one of those locations and slay them.  Just don't skybust.

Steel shot, duck stamp(s) and decent waterproof boots, or waders.  Dark goose season is more conservative on numbers and dates.  Light goose season is more liberal on numbers and dates (because snow geese are flying carp).

Is that the kind of info you're looking for?

Pretty much nailed it!  Nicely done!  I would add to read the regs and know the dates of the seasons for your area.

I'm west of Kuna in a very rural area.  Neighbor up the hill fed geese this past winter and had huge flocks.  Easiest way would have been to go up to neighbor's and kill geese while they're feeding, but I killed one (all we needed) with a pass shot over my back yard.
