I concur with dropping the MT and just having the 3-7-77 and going with a standard rectangle. ETA: dropped my objection to "Get Lost"  That last 3-7-77 version looks good.

I'm also fixing minor imperfections as I go. These are all rough until we decide and I'll make sure it's a nice image. Sometimes it's just easier to see in full resolution once you post it.

I am a touch familiar with copyright laws. I don't think you can copyright the words "Get Lost"

I ran into that with my Tabpul. I could consider the actual text part of the 2D artwork, but you can't actually copyright fonts or text. Kinda like how Coca-Cola uses LokiCola font but they changed one of the "Cs" enough to where it is their actual 2D artwork. LokiCola font is free to use by anyone.

Anyhow here are a few more.

I'd like to see the bottom one with "HTF" replaced with 3-7-77.  That centered BFL is looking great. (Think it should be of sufficient size for detail)

Oh, I didn't say "Copyrighted", but Trade Mark.  (I won't pretend to know anything of either though!)

I like this one...went to the MT Travel site and looked hi-n-lo, no mention of copywright, trademark or otherwise for 'GET LOST'.

I do believe that phrase has been in common use for decades if not centuries...would be hard-pressed to believe that our state would do either.

The GET LOST was just a consideration on my behalf as it serves as a double-entendre.

Since yall kinda like that one I cleaned it up and centered the bfl. Also made the bfl a tad bit larger.

Here is a tan bfl for a tad more contrast

The bottom patch with the tan bfl will give the best contrast and has my vote.

Kinda like I said. They've written what the actual TM covers as that design itself. Should be no problem as long as the "Lost" is in a different font and not bolded.

It would be fine the way we have it. Or even move it to the outside if yall wanted in there but I think most can live without it.

The mark consists of the shape of the State of Montana with a border outlining the State's shape. In the center of the State are the words "GET LOST." in capital letters and "LOST" is in bolder font than "GET".

I'm just discussing it to avoid any "Unintended Consequences".  Like I said, I don't know anything about it.  Though I do recall from years ago when a businessman supposedly TM'd "The Last Best Place" and the ensuing shitstorm that included Senators and riders to budget bills to kill his attempts. It's no thing to me guys.

I like this one simple, yet covers all we need.
I've already given away more of those Get Lost (in MT) stickers than I care to think about mostly to out of state tourists.

I like the state outline with the BFL and 3-7-77, but I think it would look good with the 3-7-77 centered inside the state outline with the BFL in the background, and possibly the patch itself just being the state outline instead of a rectangle.

LOL!

"Unintended Consequences"...no worries, I think the one design that we are gravitating to is clean and looks good.

"3-7-77" kinda covers a whole range of attitudes and is unique to Montana.

So, I'm in and what's the next step?

I don't know that the color scheme has been specifically addressed...  Personally I'd prefer an OD border and the main field to be UDE, FDE, Tan or perhaps make it black/silver like the flag in the center of my crappy picture below.  Thoughts?

I like where it is, but I was wanting to see it in a color scheme where the main field isn't OD.  Seems 9/10s of the year a brown/tan/FDE color would meld better.

Yes I helped Subcanis with the WY patch it was pretty simple and they mostly knew what they wanted already.

I'll help however I can. I'd appreciate a patch of my own for reimbursement for firing up my pixel generator. Also anything cool from Montana would be a plus.

Now here's something you guys may run into as a problem with the state outline. They will need to be custom cut and that may or may not drive the price up depending on how many you get made. Most flag patches or whatever are 2"x3" or 2"x3.5", using a default size is probably going to be the best route. Even making a simple shape like a circle or triangle would probably not drive the cost up much if any. Also these patches can get into some decent detail with fonts and whatnot but nothing too crazy.

Anyhow, I'll kick it off with this that I threw together. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for ideas and whatnot.

BFL:

Also if you are doing the same color background as the state background, only the ouline and bfl will be embroidered. So you could go with multicam or whatever.
