Hey guys, I'm sure this is a long shot. I need to get a rifle stock re-checkered. I purchased it awhile back and the palm swell was rediculous so I sanded and sanded till it felt right. Well, my little brother and his wife are having their first kid and I want to give him this rifle as a gift. His only other rifle is an H & R crack barrel .45-70
Anyhow, I've been hunting for IN STOCK checkering kits, brownells nor midway have them in stock, but I did purchase a kit from wood carvers.com. It hasn't shipped, been a few days and I'm a little nervous. It needs to be checkered so I can re-seal it, put back together and put a better scope on it for him before the end of July.
Rynersons in BR is apparently not opening back up since the flood, Nick out in garyville won't do it and I don't know of any body else capable of doing the job.
Can anybody point me in the right direction?
