“I’ve already told Ambassador Murphy — hopefully he will be the governor — I have at least 20 bills ready the day he walks in that have all been vetoed by Gov. Christie,” Weinberg said.

Anyone who thinks they aren't going to ban everything is delusional. NJ will make CA and NY look gun friendly by comparison. There won't be a "grandfather clause" either.

Hell, maybe I'll have to sell my NJ compliant DD V3 while some good folks can still snatch one up and parlay that into an SBR here in PA.

Do you have enough room from me, my wife, two kids and a cat?

We tried to escape in June but my company fucked me. So, now I'm stuck here to start the process all over again. It took us five years to get to a place where we could move and it's going to take another five to do it again because we have to start over.

Princeton was included in the "Myriad of other third world shit holes" statement. I wasn't talking about actual third world countries just the cities in NJ that are like third world countries.

And since I'm here in NJ for at least the next five years I'm firmly in the, "The US Constitution trumps the states unconstitutional fucked up bullshit laws." camp.

I too had plans to suppress all the things but my company screwed me out of a job they offered me at the last minute. If I could've afforded to quit and continue with my plans to move I would have. However I have a 7 year old I had to think of first.

We just have to look at the bills Christie vetoed.  Yes, mag restrictions - then there's the .50 ban, re-classify assault firearm to a single feature, institute a 5 year FID system administered by the MVC, of course the smart gun legislation - those are just the big hitters that I remember.

Yup, and it's administered by the DMV and tied to your divers license. IIRC the bill basically kept the current process for getting a FPID exactly the same except instead of going to the PD to pick up your FPID you picked up a certification form and then had to go the DMV to get it added to your DL. It of course accomplished absolutely nothing except make the already ridiculous FPID process even more arduous and you had to do it every time you renewed your DL.

Some of the other bills undoubtedly include a private sales ban and ban on mail order ammo.

It has nothing to do with 2nd Amendment, but interesting nonetheless.

TRENTON -- More than two million people left New Jersey between 2005 and 2014, taking billions of dollars in income and economic activity with them, according to a state business group that blames high taxes for the exodus.

The Business and Industry Association's new report said so-called outmigration over a 10-year span cost the state $18 billion in net adjusted gross income, 75,000 jobs, $11.4 billion in economic activity, $4.2 billion in labor income and $8.4 billion in household spending.

"This outmigration of New Jersey residents has had a substantial and continuing negative impact on the state's economy," the report said. "When New Jerseyans leave the state they not only take their income with them, but they take income taxes, sales taxes, property taxes and purchasing power with them as well."

New Jerseyans most often move to Pennsylvania, New York, Florida, California and North Carolina, though Pennsylvania is traditionally the most popular destination.

Christie pension commission calls for N.J. public worker health care cuts

Christie pension commission calls for N.J. public worker health care cuts

Gov. Chris Christie's pension commission released a follow-up report to its sweeping plan to reinvent public worker health and pension benefits.

"These individuals are relocating to states that offer a more favorable tax structure than New Jersey in order to avoid paying certain rates for taxes -- or in some cases, paying taxes at all," the report said.

While outmigration conjures images of seniors packing up and heading to warmer climates, NJBIA said the loss of millennials is an equally alarming trend.

"With an average monthly housing cost of $1,530, a per capita state and local tax burden of $6,675, average energy expenditure per person of $4,404 and an average car insurance premium cost of $1,595, one can see why our young residents who are entering the workforce at the entry level of the wage scale will find it challenging to afford living in New Jersey," NJBIA said.

The group is urging lawmakers to reform the state's estate and inheritance taxes and tax on pension income to stem the outflow of seniors.

A liberal Trenton think tank quickly countered the group's report, noting that the exodus of money and people is a small percentage of the income generated in New Jersey and its population.

In addition, while 2.09 million people left New Jersey, according to the study, 1.4 million moved in from elsewhere in the U.S. and nearly 600,000 from abroad. How much $ did they bring with them ???????

"It's worth noting that even if you take these income migration numbers at face value, there is not a shred of credible evidence pointing to estate taxes or income taxes as the reason these people take their income elsewhere -- there's only myth and anecdote," said Jon Whiten, deputy director of the liberal Trenton think tank, New Jersey Policy Perspective.

Lawmakers from both parties have called for the state to eliminate or phase out the estate tax, and Senate Democrats are pushing a plan to raise the tax exemption for retirement income.

Bobby_the_Hun, I just received our property tax bill for the coming Princeton fiscal year. Of course it reflects another increase. While the government on the local & federal level look at me as a cow to be constantly milked my employer is cutting back. My health care cost has gone up 300% and that $2500.00 savings is no where in sight. I expect no mail order ammo bill to be passed, more tax increases, & no CCW or no suppressors ever allowed.
Simple question, why stay? Shoveling snow at almost 70 is not my idea of winter fun.
As of tomorrow, 42 paychecks to go.

Less than 2 years

Yeah, Money is the major factor holding me here and of course an elderly parent not wanting to leave, she can't handle change, hopefully in the
near future, a new source of income may surface in another state ( WV, VA ).  Retirement is not in my future, even though I am eligible in just less than 10 years.
I plan on working till my legs give out. Meanwhile, my ass stays here.

The biggest issue to NJ voters is taxes yet Murphy has already said he's going to raise them by over a billion dollars.
