First I'm hearing of it. But I'm pretty sure it'll have the same effect as all the other lawsuits filed in NJ.
It'll end with NJ laughing in everyone's face while it criminalizes law abiding gun owners. |

The Supreme Court conference is scheduled for Feb 17th to see if Stephen's argument has constitutional merit. Any bets on what happens?
Supreme Court Justices Set to Hold Closed Conference Regarding 2nd Amendment Case 'Stephens vs Jerejian' excerpt: Marc Stephens’, who is representing himself, petition for writ of certiorari raises three compelling legal
arguments regarding New Jersey’s firearm permit and licensing laws, which Stephens claim are Facially Unconstitutional. First, Stephens argues that New Jersey's Firearm Laws were created only for Slaves, and are in violation of the 2nd and 14th amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Second, Stephens argues that the States can not enact gun control laws, and Third, cannot interfere with the
right of the citizen to keep and bear arms. Several Supreme Court Opinions supports Stephens’ legal argument. |

Not surprising... they still don't have the votes to sustain a pro-gun decision. At best, it would wind up 4-4, and more than likely, 5-3 with Kennedy siding with the liberals. Without the probability of getting a favorable decision, the conservatives on the court will continue to vote to deny cert, rationalizing that no decision is better than a bad decision.
We gotta wait until Gorsuch gets confirmed, and ideally, after Ginsberg is replaced. |
