Always great news to hear a new range opening! Am I reading that article wrong, because it sounds like to use the range you need an NJ FID, military or LEO ID? It's no issue for me, I have my FID and so does my wife, but in terms of bringing friends or family who don't and want to try shooting or even out of town friends who live in more gun friendly states it seems like a no go. I guess I've just never heard of that kind of requirement to rent or use a range. Again, I may have misread or misunderstood but it seems like it's pretty clear:
"Although they won't need ID for instruction, gun-range patrons will have to have ID, showing that their backgrounds have been checked — a N.J. Firearms ID card or law enforcement or military ID. To get a state ID card, apply through your local police department, Suk advised."
