Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Can anyone tell me about Sornet Wetzlar scopes?

I purchased a Sornet Wetzlar 7 x 42 scope for a K98k sniper reproduction and would like to know a little bit more about them.  I know they are the precursor to Schmidt and Bender but that's about it.  Are these scopes generally held is good regard?  Would I benefit from sending it to someone in Germany/Europe for refinishing or just using it as is?
