So first off too the mods, im not promoting this event, all I want to do is start a thread for the participants to talk about tactics, weapons they are using, the range, etc. I know there was some threads similar to this last year that caused a fuss....

That being said, I missed the buddy shoot last year due to a deployment, but this year I made it and im stoked for it!

I will be using a 12.5" SBR AR build and a CZ 75B

My partner on the other hand, even tho I told him to use an AR he wants to use his SKS and glock17. Thoughts?

I'll probably be RO'ing this event. As such, i'll make sure to piss you all off with a couple evil stages.

Just start doing cardio now.

srsly tho, should I let my partner use his sks? it defiantly would be some funny shit to see beat other teams using it...

As far as I know the only recommendation was "magazine fed rifle"

Beyond that, i'd check with Petta for verification.

I'm all registered. The last buddy challenge never really any supper high round count stages I think the smurf was about as high as it got. Hows your buddy shoot out to 200yds with it? would suck trying to stick that sks though some of those holes in smurf tower.
Link Posted: 9/3/2015 7:21:09 AM EDT
[#8]
if smurf tower was the course with the highest round count then it might work.
We were shooting like 120 yards at a 12X20 plate and were getting consistent hits, so maybe we will move it out to 200 and see if we can't get consistent hits there!

Do you plan on using ur suppressor in the shoot?
I was thinking about putting it on mine but then I got to thinking, it adds length and weight, and I will already be wearing ear pro. Only up side I could see is that my team mate would get concussed if we shoot side by side.

If running suppressed is an option, running suppressed is THE option. If it makes the gun to heavy, there's gym memberships for the cost of a mag of ammo a month.

I think Petta said there should be around 10-12 teams so far. Sovida and I are in for it, and I think Sommers and a buddy are in as well.

I talked to Sommers, he said he plans to but hasn't mailed in the fee yet. Hope it doesn't fill in too fast and he misses out tho..

On another note I just ordered 250 rounds of 5.56 I plan to use from a co ive never bought from before. so I hope their ammo is quality otherwise I will be in a shitty mood!

Im getting pretty pumped for this.

This will also be my buds first shooting competition so he's pretty stoked too.

I did try putting on my plate carrier and holster and found out that wouldn't work, so im back to my fishermans vest thing...so much for trying to be an operator.

So no armor? I'll go back to my chest rig then too, unless someone else is wearing armor.

Anyone know an official team count?

Petta said 10-11 teams so far. I double checked the zero on my rifle yesterday, she'll do just fine so long as i do my part.

I saw your FB post, looked good!

Ive sighted in 2" higher than point of aim @ 50 but couldn't get out to see how it was @ 100, so I think ill do that Friday.

This was a great event that concentrated on accuracy instead of volume. I know I took away that I need to become a more accurate shot from a variety of situations. I'm trying to find some logs so I can do a modified log drag stage at the Cbus range.

Yeah, not going to lie, that one smoked me.

My takeaway from this year was that I REALLY need to work on pistol shooting. (Also, Pro-Tip: Don't drift your sights the day before a match.)
