Actually, I'm not sure if they're legal for uspsa multigun or not. You could bring it along and ask the RO.
They used to shoot unsanctioned matches there and I remember one guy used a can on his rifle. The shot timer didn't pick up all his shots, so I would recommend against it.

I didn't even think about getting any.
Plus, I shot badly enough that I'd rather not have a photographic record. |

Another multigun match coming up at ENGC. April 27th, shooting carbines out to 300 yards. Check your zero.

My 3 gun rifle has a bullet drop reticle that's close enough for this kind of work, but even with a red dot or conventional reticle it should be easy enough. I think they're using 12" gongs or something similar, so just hold a little bit over the top of the gong if you're zeroed at 100 yards. ENGC is well protected from the wind, and at 300 yards you won't get much drift anyway, so all you'll have to deal with is the bullet drop. |

BTW, suppressors are fully allowed for USPSA Multigun matches.
"2.1.12 Legally possessed sound suppressors are allowed on long guns and not considered compensators and therefore not subject to the size restrictions on compensators. Any suppressor which has functional characteristics which serve to reduce muzzle-flip and/or felt recoil (e.g., externally-visible baffles or ports) will be considered a compensator." Quoted: Cool. For a dedicated multigun rifle I would use a brake, but a can should work ok as long as it's not too quiet. View Quote |

Quoted: I'm thinking about competing with my SBR this year for fun (first year I've had it). Can should be clearing paperwork in the next couple months. I'm not sure how loud it will be but I imagine pretty loud since it's going on a 10.5". View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Cool. It was very nice for the short range hoser stages, but I suffered a little bit on longer shots. Not because it wasn't accurate enough, but it's just not as steady as my regular gun. I'll probably switch back and forth from one match to the next depending on what mood I'm in. |

Although that 300 yard range IS pretty windy. I'm shooting my 10.5" SBR with a 50 yard zero so I will be holding about 12" high. Longer barreled ARs will have lots less trouble. In fact if you have a spot-on zero at 50, you should be able to just hold a tad high on the plate and hit it with a 16" barrel. I would definitely recommend taking a trip to the 300 yard range and shooting at 300 to verify though. If you're super anal about your zero like I am you'll usually be fine with just checking at your zero distance but if every bit you're off is multiplied a lot at range. |

i have not shot it with that upper or with the suppressor attached. i've shot the MAC and the can numerous times, but never together. it will be a tale of the ages!
i do have several hundred subsonic 9mm, but i will not reload. no time, no workspace and not trusting myself. supersonic won't be that bad, but sub will be even better! |

Went and shot yesterday out at twin lakes... Attempted to sight in the cheap red dot I have for this Friday Carbine Shoot in GI. Like a dumbass I didn't bring any extra batteries and I couldn't hardly see the reticle . Oh well I got it close enough to put holes in paper. I need to find $300 bucks and PA needs to release the 1-6x...
Anyone interested in going to GI for there carbine shoot one Friday. Starts at 530 leaving Lincoln around 330.... I think we have some seats in the truck... |
