|
Yeah, 23 mph
If I have a good distance reading I can hit ok, but I really struggle with reading the wind. I have a wind meter but what it's doing at the firing point is usually different than what it's doing downrange. |
|
Doh. Had everything packed (I thought) then realized I hadn't packed my card with all my ballistic dope.
Now I'm paranoid about what else I've forgotten |
|
|
Thanks, it was a fun day. I'm just glad we did the really long range stuff before the wind picked up. 900 yards in a 30mph wind is just a little challenging.

It held up pretty good at long range. I was impressed. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Hey, IWK - what was the barrel length on your rifle? 16" Centurion Arms lightweight Partly I'm rusty, and partly that was a "I NEED AMMO" load, not a worked up load. I'm 98% sure it would have improved the performance of the other AR user, although he was crippled by the duplex reticle. I'm going to be getting range finding binos ASAP, also. Really could have used an inclined base past 800 also, since I dialed 9 mil and had to hold +1.6 and L3-5. |
|
I need to take my 3 gun rifle out and try some long range shooting. I have a 10x like yours in a QD mount so I can swap back and forth with my 1-4.

Thinking of sticking a brake on my SBR and using it for the multigun match on Sunday, instead of my normal rifle. Just to be obnoxious.

Problem is, the only spare brake I have laying around is for a .308. But I do have a 1/2-28 to 5/8-24 thread adaptor on that gun already so I can run my .308 can on it. So it won't be as loud as a dedicated 5.56 brake, but it should still be enough to require doubling up on hearing protection.
|
|
I hope I'm not on your squad.
Do they even do squads for multi-gun? I've only shot steel challenge and zombie matches there. |

Do It. https://clubs.practiscore.com/enps-march-multigun-match/register Thanks for the offer Rick. I went ahead and stuck the 308 brake on for now. It should still be plenty loud. I guess I did have a Levang comp available, but where's the fun in that? |

Fuck you guys, going shooting on the weekends I have to work.

I love having a M-F job. Except when I have to get up at 2 AM to make an early flight out of Omaha.

Well, we had too much fun shooting and didn't make it to AR.
Oh well, got my obnoxious SBR zeroed. It's not bad for the guy shooting it. Anyone standing behind and off to the side, however..... |

I have a couple questions about the Multi gun match tomorrow.
Do you stage your guns or do you carry them along? Do I need a rifle sling Will I need a pistol holster or is it shoot and ditch (allowing me to use my osprey)? |

Probably a Glock 21 My 1911 has taller sight and is easier to shoot with the Osprey though View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Quoted: I have a couple questions about the Multi gun match tomorrow. Do you stage your guns or do you carry them along? Depends on the stage design, long guns are frequently staged, sometimes you start out with them and then abandon them in a designated spot to switch to another gun. Do I need a rifle sling No Will I need a pistol holster or is it shoot and ditch (allowing me to use my osprey)? Yes, you will typically start a stage with the pistol holstered. You don't want to use a suppressor because the shot timer may not pick up your shots. View Quote |
