It's Fahrenheit
If it's not windy, -30 and -40 aren't that different. For me anyway, in non-windy conditions, it takes about a 20 degree change to care much about it. 0 through -20 is about the same. -20 through -40 is about the same. Below -40 is about the same but I haven't been out in anything below -60. I may be dumb but I ain't that stupid.
If it's windy, it gets miserable fast.
I shoot a lot of revolvers in the winter because I don't want to deal with picking up brass when it's that cold. 22s which are always finicky get even more cranky in the cold.
I was mostly surprised that the gun didn't have problems because I find that at under -30 I tend to start breaking stuff pretty quickly. Metal and plastic seems to break much more frequently. This is mostly in the areas of snowmachines, ice-fishing, and winter camping. It just seems like gear fails.
Congrats for taking a honeymoon up here in the winter! Did you guys get to see the northern lights?
