So I found out today why the zoning change. Some jackasses built a range IN a housing area off Brock Rd in North Pole. Apparently it was legal until the zoning change. In this case, I can't complain too much because that was a bit of a jackass move. Legal, yes. Still a jackass move.

From what I heard, the guy was running carbine classes out of the range and the backstop was lacking.

The comments on that article are pretty telling.
Obviously we are all for more ranges; but running carbine classes out of a residential area isn't going to earn the firearms community any friends. |

Holy hell, I didn't know it was that bad
 I was tempted to see if they needed any photo work done back when they started out (I assumed they were way out on CHSR) but I'm very happy I didn't.
