For anyone in Juneau the Walmart here has it for .35 a round or $349.99 for a 1000 round loose case. Don't need it but had to buy one. As of tonight they had about 10 cases sitting out.

Was out and about today...Sportsmans in Anchorage was down to a couple of cans of the Federal 855 on strippers(420Count), and Cabela's had a couple battle packs of 855 and some 150 boxes left....they did have both 8 and 1er's of vargent and several reloader powders for those looking....We got 2-8's of vargent there then got 4 pds of 869 out at the sportsman's in wasilla along with the boys new Recon in 5.66..

The Fairbanks Wallmart had some this evening, but I think it worked out to 50 cents a round or pretty close to it. I'm too much of a cheap bastard to enjoy shooting any type ammo at that price, for recreational purposes anyway. I might pay two or three dollars a round for hunting ammo, but a box of that stuff will last a couple of years if I just sight in and confirm zero. The cost of ammo in general is ludicrous.

My son decided he wanted more so we did the rounds again this morning..sportsmans in Anchorage was out of 855, had quite a few cases of HP 55...Cabelas had 1-200 rd. battle pack of 855 and 8 packs of 193..they did have about 30 -150 packs of AE 855 for 85.00.. that and lots of 20 rd boxes of PMC/Rem and such generic stuff.......interesting times get more interesting.... |

Most of the Fred Meyers have the PMC Xtac stuff, same 62gr projectile but they want $9/20

This is 2nd (or 3rd) hand. I was at a buddies place last night an he got a phone call. Some GI went to walmart and cleaned them out of $5k worth of 855

The one my roomate went to last night limited him to 3 cases, so I doubt that unless he had buddies helping him. Old Seward is doing 10 a day total, so it had to have been another walmart.
