Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - One more deer hunting question

a friend that I plan to hunt with told me that it would be legal to continue hunting once my tag has been filled as long as he still has an open tag that needs to be filled.
I'm new to hunting in Iowa, but I always assumed that once you fill your tag you're done. he seems to take offence to this...

is this a legal practice?
this will be during the second shotgun season

Yes, that is correct. At least one person in your party needs to have an unfilled tag, but those that have tags filled can continue hunting to help the unfilled tag get filled.

Party hunting is only legal during the two shotgun seasons, and I believe the late muzzleloader season. Part hunting is not legal during early muzzleloader and bow season.
