Anyone know of places east river with good/decent dog towns? Edmunds, Faulk, Hand, Hyde area or even further south towards Pierre? Im up in the NE corner so driving 5-6 hours out west river to find dogs is a little much.

I've never found any worth the effort on the east side of the river. Years ago I hunted a number of small towns from Chamberlain to Presho. The size where one shot and the whole town goes underground for a half hour.

we had some good shooting on east river prairie dogs within an hour of Ft. Thompson on public land last fall during the opening week of pheasant season.  Most of the shots were with 10/22's, as the towns were only around 40-60 acres in size and one shot from the AR would scatter them for 10-15 minutes.
