Anyone out there know if there is a limit for shell capacity in a firearm for hunting coyote in Michigan?  I have read in the past that there can be no more than 5 rounds loaded for any type of firearm hunting in Michigan. Is that still the case?

Yes.Per the 2016 Michigan Hunting and Trapping Digest:
It is unlawful to hunt with a semi-automatic shotgun or semi-automatic rifle that can hold more than six shells in the barrel and magazine combined, unless it is a .22 caliber or smaller rimfire.

Unfortunately, I cannot find an MCL reference for this. Note that this only applied to semi-auto rifles and shotguns while hunting other than migratory game birds.
