I'm familiar with The Pit in Lapeer, and I've been to the DNR ranges in Sharonville & other places, but I was wondering if there were any other places within 50 miles or so of Ann Arbor to shoot outdoors for free?  Someone told me about a quarry downriver where they used to shoot, the same person also said there was a SGA (pointe Moilee maybe) where you could shoot, but unfortunately his experience was 40 years ago and he was short on specifics.

I'm looking for a place outdoors that I might be able to sneak to on a weekday and shoot without earpro to show friends how quiet my suppressed rimfire bolt action is, or maybe do some controlled rapid fire without RSO's breathing down my back.  Any help appreciated.

Go to the dnr website they have a state game land finder.  Look for a area near you.  Find a suitable back stop setup a target and have at it.  Some state game land is posted no target shooting.  You might want to call and check before driving out
