i'm thinking about hosting something sort of similar to the old hometown forum get together in August 19-21 (sat/sun/mon), south of Cookeville again, to coincide with the total solar eclipse that will go right through the property just after noon on Monday. However, this isn't quite like the previous events in that the event would not be so focused on shooting but be equal parts
-camping on private land but next door to a state park with lots of water/waterfall,
-shooting (i'll have steel targets from 10 to 1000+ yards for pistol/carbine/long rifle, and you can shoot a few rounds after dark using Night Vision too)
-wheeling... bring your jeep or truck and we will do a short section of the Kentucky Adventure Trail near Jamestown

there would be a minimal cost in the $30-40 range. (a little more if i have to get insurance for the shooting)
also, my guess is more than half the people would not be members of this forum.
we can set up some spotting scopes and cameras etc. The last total solar eclipse I got to see was in the 1970s.
anyways, i haven't totally worked out the details, just checking to see if there is any interest
