Update at 10:00 p.m.

Greeneville Police Captain Tim Davis told News Channel 11 all three
children were riding in one basket during the time of the incident.

He said those injured are now alert and talking.

"I was contacted by one of the EMS guys who made contact with JCMC.
The children were awake, alert and answering questions for the medical
staff,” said Davis.

No names have been released at this time.

Davis said the company now has 24 hours to file a report with the
state. All mechanical rides at the fair will be shut down until a third
party inspector signs off on operations.

Greeneville Police said more information will be released Tuesday morning during a news conference.
Update at 8:35

Emergency crews were dispatched to the Greene County Fair at 6:17 pm.
News Channel 11’s Kristen Quon reports the three children came from
two families.  The oldest child injured is 16 years old, according to
Greeneville Police Captain Tim Davis who conducted a news conference at
about 8:15 pm.  Captain Davis said all rides will be shut down tonight
until a third-party inspector can come to Greeneville.

Kristen found out eyewitnesses and Ferris wheel employees were being interviewed tonight.

Update at 8:25pm

News Channel 11’s Curtis McCloud just learned from authorities in
Greene County that all three people who fell from the Ferris wheel were
children.  All three have been taken to the Johnson City Medical Center.
One was airlifted by Wings Air Rescue.  The second child was
airlifted by UT LIFESTAR based in Knoxville.  The third child was rushed
to Johnson City by ambulance.

Update at 8:05pm

The Tennessee Burea of Investigation is assisting the Greeneville
Police Department in its investigation.  That’s according to TBI
spokesperson Leslie Earhart.

Update at 7:10pm

News Channel 11 just spoke with an eyewitness.  Gregory Lynthacum of
Washington County, TN said he saw three young girls fall from the Ferris
Wheel when their car appeared to get caught as the wheel lifted them
upwards spilling them out.  "It was like watching water pouring from a
glass,” Lynthacum said.  "They bounced off the metal bridging of the
ride and eventually hit the ground.”

I saw where the fair operators decided to pack up.  Have they left town yet?

From what I understand, the carnival operators won't be back.  The contract has been terminated.

I wonder who we'll have next year?

Looks like the 6yr old is now listed as Stable condition, but they've got a long way to go.

The parent's don't seem too happy with the operators.  From the interview they gave on WBIR, the way they were talking sounds like they've had some ambul-lawers come in and consult them.  The operators haven't tried to contact the family. They just up and left.
