Any good spots where I can take the family without reservations? I want to be buried in the woods with shade, cool weather, a good shooting spot and a place to fish. Was thinking of taking off Monday August 8th.

Thanks in advance!!

Lots of places around Navajo lake and Duck Creek Village about 25 miles out of Cedar.

Lots of decent dirt roads that take off from the highway some better than others. It can be hard to find a nice spot on holiday weekends but most other times it is easy to find an open spot.

Look on google maps   FR240 has a lot of nice places if the toy hauler is not to big to get down the tree lined road. Lava flows to shoot rock chucks off of from 50yds to 400yds. FR055 has some nice spots but no OHV's allowed. FR382 has a few good spots. FR251 has a lot of nice places that large trailers can get to and a nice lava flow with 200yd up to 700 yd rock chuck shooting. FR383 has a few spots for large trailers if you take the left on the fork. There are plenty of other places but it might be wise to drop the trailer and do some scouting in the truck first or unload an OHV.
