Tomato, tomahto. There's no difference, one is just a more appropriate name than the other. It's mostly just a tool for pedantic folks to get their know-it-all on.
Utah isn't any more expensive or hard than every place, it's the federal stuff that costs the money and takes forever. Pretty much any dealer can fill you in on the specifics. If you get a suppressor (I prefer this term), do not buy one outside of a trust. SilencerCo has pre-made trusts for like $140 last I checked. Once you have one, you don't need to buy another. Just keep adding your NFA items on the existing trust.

I can send you the name of the guy that did mine if you go that route. Check the local shops for what they have in stock or will order and price check. If you can get it cheaper ordering direct I have a great dealer in Sandy that does NFA transfers for $50. The worst part of the process is waiting for the paperwork to go through. Using a trust speeds that up. |
