Hey Guys!

Wife and I will be passing through and I needed to know about pistols/AR`s while we are there. Multi state trip and as we are older I don`t like being without some protection against bad guys or angry animals. We plan on driving our Can Am side x side around the Moab area for a few days and I wanted to know about weapons on / near / in vehicles / persons / loaded / unloaded etc.

If you have a permit from any State or County, you are good to carry however you please, even in/on your vehicles.

If no permit, there are just a few dumb rules, but nothing huge.

I am positive you can carry a pistol loaded in your vehicle without a permit. Permit you can carry on your person. I am too lazy to go and find the law for you. Rifles in you vehicle have to be none in the chamber I think.

If you have a Texas CCW, you are good to go everywhere except inside federal and park service buildings, courthouses, jails, secure mental health facilities, and secure areas of airports. No guns allowed signs on private businesses do NOT have the force of law. They are a suggestion only, however if you're made, you can be asked to leave or face a trespassing citation. I should say that concealed carry is specifically allowed on state property, including liquor stores, in restaurants and bars. You may not be intoxicated and carry.

Thanks guys! You saved me going to law school. We have taken several multi-state trips since we retired and I`m really looking forward to this one. It`s a shame that I have to go through so many different jurisdictions with so many different rules.
