First weekend in September there is a two day carbine/handgun course in Walla Walla. Paratus northwest. Great guys I took a defensive handgun class from them.I am planning on hitting this too. Very reasonable. Anyone else maybe?

Defensive handgun

Combining skills in handgun manipulation and marksmanship, tactics in real-world scenarios, and survival mindset—this intensive, one-day course takes the student from shooter to gunfighter. Concepts include advanced manipulation, tactical movement, use of cover, and vehicle-based operations.

Prerequisite: While we suggest our Basic Handgun course, students can enroll in Defensive Handgun with a basic understanding of handgun safety and function. At instructor's discretion, students may be tested before participating; shooters will be expected to safely load, unload, and fire their handgun without coaching.

Required equipment:


1.Semi-auto handgun of any caliber
A note on .22LR handguns, click here
2.At least two magazines
3.Outside waistband hip holster and magazine holder for at least one mag
4.400 rounds of ammunition for your gun
(if you have any questions on ammo type, etc, please let us know)
5.Eye and ear protection
Electronic ear protection is preferred, but not required.
Prescription eyeglasses and regular sunglasses are acceptable for eye protection.

Proper Dress:
Brimmed hat (ballcap, boonie hat, etc), long pants, and closed-toe shoes required

COMBAT CARBINE

Combining skills in carbine manipulation and marksmanship, tactics and movement in real-world scenarios, and survival mindset—this intensive, one-day course takes the student from shooter to gunfighter. Concepts include platform selection and setup, advanced manipulation, tactical movement, use of cover, and survival mindset.

Prerequisite: Students can enroll in Combat Carbine with a basic understanding of carbine safety and function. At instructor's discretion, students may be tested before participating; shooters will be expected to safely load, unload, and fire their rifle without coaching.

Required equipment:
1.Semi-auto carbine of any major caliber:
The structure of the class pertains primarily to the AR platform, but AK variants, Mini-14s, and other carbines are welcome.
- Must have removable magazines and minimum 20 round magazine capacity.
- Optics are allowed, but not required.
- .22LR is acceptable for this class.
2.At least two magazines.
3.Belt or chest mounted carbine magazine holder.
We are firm proponents in training like you fight. This means wear your armor, your duty gear, or your competition setup...
4.400 rounds of ammunition for your rifle
(if you have any questions on ammo type, etc, please let us know)
5.Rifle sling
One-point preferred, two and three-point are acceptable.
6.Eye and ear protection
Electronic ear protection is preferred, but not required.
