LOL, fair enough.
anyway, 5 years in the area, just love the land, shooting, hunting, grilling, fishing, still terrible at fishing though. never the less, just being around the Umpqua river is amazing. all about self improvement, i love training, both the mind and body. it's far to easy to be a couch potato with guns!  that being said I'm far from the end of my own personal self improvement journey.
I'm a christian, and I love this Republic and fancy myself a Minuteman, Practice for war, to maintain peace! Guns are my passion and calling. Count yourself blessed to live in that area. The economy there has struggled at times, but amazing natural beauty all around. I went to high school in that area, and have grandkids living there, I'll be back.

Yeah growing up there we spent a ton time on the river. I'm up north now for work but we go back a lot to visit friends and family.

Oh believe me fellas, I do! the land is just so beautiful here, truly God's country.
I am certainly blessed to have full time work here, but I can also definitely understand your sentiments. as I do find myself looking at the greater area for more gainful employment, always looking for a better opportunity for my family. may end up having to go toward Eugene, or Portland (outskirts of course, if there's any helping it... city living, meh. i can only take it in short bursts). Def. cool to talk to some folks from around here... fishing/shooting trip may be in order sometime! my father-in-law has private river access.... and just pulled the most beutiful 33lb Springer last week. i'll have to upload a pic! |
