I keep my guns in a room with a bunch of other stuff, recently I've noticed this gross white mold on a lot of things, like the slings, the straps on my camel pack, knife sheaths, ect. My mother says I need ventilation; keep a window open, but 9 months a year here, sure enough if I open a window it rains and blows water in. I bought an electric dehumifier, but I think all it does is warm up the room a little, maybe making it worse even. How do other people in Oregon keep this from happening?

Is this in a normal bedroom, closet, basement, or other? If you have mold popping up in a normal bedroom that means you have a big moisture problem. If the gear is sealed up in boxes, ammo cans, or a safe that's a little different. I have about 1/2lbs. of silica packs spread in my small safe and it works well to suck up moisture. If your talking about small sealed spaces look into something like the Safe Dri.

Oregon = mold

Vinegar will kill it and is like $2 a gallon...actually vinegar is really underused as an overall cleaner: kills weeds, pickles your beets, cleans showers/sinks (with a drop of soap and some borax added...I digress

Ventilation is key. Dehumidifiers work but as you found, causes other undesirable issues. I try not to pack things into closets and such. Good luck...
