I got a call yesterday from LaRue Tactical. My 12" Stealth upper is finally ready. I placed the order in January of 2013. Amazing. I had completely forgotten about it!

That upper took longer than my Daniel Defense 300AAC SBR + the ATF form transfers combined!

I mean if your safe is too full because your forgot, I could probably squeeze it in mine if I moved a few things around.   I'll IM my address shortly.

I just wonder how long all the giveaway winners will have to wait.

They're just making sure you acknowledge that you understand the rules. I didn't have to send them proof or anything. I did have to verbally say I understood though.

It makes sense, because 99% of gun owners probably don't fully understand NFA, especially short barrels. So if you bought a 12" upper and slapped it on your unstamped lower (completely illegal), and were then caught/arrested/sent to Gitmo , you may be upset that "no one told me". And since this is America, that generally means lawsuits are filed (justified or not) and expenses are incurred.

Easier for the business just to make you say you understand the NFA rules.

I actually decided that I didn't really want to spend the $1200 right now, so I offered it up to a friend. It'll be sitting in my safe for a year though until he gets a lower stamped.
