Disregard my current location, I know how to pronounce Shallotte

I was goofing off on Google Maps earlier and saw there's a pretty nice looking range complex being built out near the old Bear Pen airfield. I can't find anything online about it, and I'm guessing it belongs to the BCSO, but does anyone know anything about it? Is it open to the public?

I know the area very well as the airfield is along the boundries of Juniper Creek Game Lands and I've hunted along the perimeters since 08'.  My understanding is that it is going to belong to the county Sheriffs office.  I would like for it to be open to the public also.  Haven't hunted much there in the last 3 seasons do to deployments unforunitly.
