The wife and I plan our anniversaries around hitting casinos since we got married in Vegas.
Going to be In Boonville in June for a day before heading on to St.louis for the weekend.
We planned on stopping at Sierra bullets on the way there and hopefully get a tour.
Other than ending the evening at the Casino we only really have planned seeing the old bridge,Katy trail and some historic buildings.
Anything else of interest around there? Local restaraunts we should eat at? Local shops we should check out?

I hear Rocheport is interesting if you're into antiques.

Call Sierra an hour or so ahead & they'll schedule a factory tour.  Its pretty cool.

There is the Mitchell Car museum in town. Not sure of the hours they are open. If this link will work for you has a few leads, depending on what you are looking for. http://goboonville.com/2015/mitchell-antique-motorcar-museum/ One of these days I need to go a take a tour as well.

Thanks for the suggestions!
Definitely adding that monument to the list although wont have time to try out the shooting range.
We are also going to try to hit the Mitchell Museum. I think we will have to see if there are any other groups going the day we would stop since it says minimum of 4 four the tour.

I'm not a gambler but I've never heard any good things about the Boonville casino.

Arrow Rock is sort of interesting if you're into history.

It's definitely not that great of a Casino.

Les Bourgeois Winery used to be nice for killing a couple hours drinking some wine overlooking the river.   I haven't been back since I left Columbia, so I'm not sure what it's like now.

If I were looking for something to do on a cross-Missouri trip I would definitely head to the wineries (in Hermann and Augusta) before I'd go to a casino. But, again, I'm not a gambler. Different strokes for different folks . . .

Ate at Les Bourgeois last year during our annual Katy Trail ride.

Great food, nice view, and good wine.

There's an Indian mound in the city park not too far from the casino... the road splits around the mound.
Boone's Lick ( where Daniel Boone boiled spring water to get the salt) is not too far of a drive across the river.

This isnt the only trip we take in the year. Just a tradition we decided to start after getting married in Las Vegas for our anniversaries.
We collect a $1 casino chip from each casino we visit. The only reason we even ended up on settling for Boonville this year was we have slowly been furnishing our new house all year so moneys a bit tight and the wifes parents are keeping our daughter for that week so it worked well to make it a round trip from Spfl-Boonville-Stl to pick up the kid and then Home.
We will only probably spend a 100 bucks or so in the casino this time. But it gives us a reason to visit a new area and explore new places anyways.

You guys are definately giving me a lot of great stuff to check out! Thanks!
