For those of you following and interested, but don't want to read a 80 pg thread of 9 pics and most of the rest bickering about yes/no/F-You....
Per CZ on FF. https://www.facebook.com/czusafirearms/posts/10152751983622401:0 Scorpion Factory Stock to be Made Available This Summer Since the release of the CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 Pistol in October of 2014, CZ-USA has received many inquiries about the availability of the factory folding stock. It has always been CZ-USA’s intention to make the stock available to the public as soon as practicable. Obviously, an approved Form 1 is required to convert the CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 Pistol into an SBR. The ATF has informed us that 922r does apply, and their official parts count for the Scorpion Pistol is 16 parts. CZ-USA is currently in the process of manufacturing a number of US-made parts which we intend to sell both individually and as part of a kit to ensure that individuals manufacturing SBRs have the means to comply with 922r. We’re also working closely with a number of US manufacturers to ensure a variety of US-made parts are available from sources other than CZ-USA. That being said, until more qualifying 922r compliance parts are available from aftermarket sources, the factory stock will only be available as part of the kit including the required compliance parts. We expect to begin selling the stocks as part of a 922r compliance kit in late summer (earlier if at all possible). Retail cost of the compliance kit will be very reasonable, ensuring that a CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 SBR will remain one of the most reasonably priced pistol-caliber carbines available to the public. |

Damn, guess I'm going to have to buy one now, that's what I was waiting for

I still don't see how 922r applies, the end user is the manufacturer of the rifle. Me thinks if someone ever gets busted for not complying with 922r they've got worse problems, cause the atf is not kicking in doors solely because of that.

View Quote The ATF just determined that shouldering a sig brace equipped pistol "manufactured" an unregistered SBR. Thus the user was the manufacturer. With that in mind, how does 922r apply? ETA- good on CZ for making the necessary parts for their customers. |

I'm with you. I thought a SBR was no longer considered a "sporting rifle" and therefore not subject to 922r. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

If 922r does apply, thus making this a "sporting rifle," then NFA doesn't apply........now this goes strickly by the definitions the ATF has set forth, so we know it will never work! |

Guys, guys, guys.
You can not apply logical thinking to what the ATF says or does. |

I picked up a lower this morning, while waiting for the feds to give the go ahead I turn around and start looking at what the store had, there sitting on display was a EVO 3 S1. I damn near pulled out the credit card and bought it after seeing this thread.

Simply issuing a stamp doesn't make someone in violation. There are some very resourceful people out there when it comes to procuring or even making the parts they need. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if someone were to pull certain parts and take them to an engraver. |

I've already got a 1/2-28 so I figure it's about the same price to re-thread as it is for a new piston and then I'll have one less thing I could loose in the garage |

There was a big argument on FB in a "Scorpion Evo Enthusiasts group" about this over the weekend and got a lot of folks shackles up.. A few of the folks that said, 922r was not an issue got mad and started calling names.... My only comment is, ""After CZ contacted and heard back from the ATF on this, why would they bother with setting up a 922r kit before making the stocks available to customers, if it were not an issue..."" and I think another thread on here was at least temporarily shut down as folks got too heated when their opinion was challenged.... When dealing with ATF stances, things don't always make sense or follow logic... |
