"They are calling members to shut down Highway 280 near The Summit entrance at 3 p.m. and “die in” at the Riverchase Galleria food court at 4:30 p.m."

If I were to happen to be in the area, they might get ice cold water thrown on them

A cell phone jammer would be a lot more fun.

I don't think that Hoover PD will play their silly-ass game.

They tried it here right before Thanksgiving.  We got a mass email at work to avoid the main gate of the base on our way out since the protest locale is right up the street.  I LOL'd and was like "SPEED BUMPS!"

If I knew it was going to be worth it I would take a half day and do it.

But based on the response to the "protest" downtown, it would be a waste of a vacation day and I would be left disappointed.

I pray you are correct. It would be nice to see a department stand up to this stupidity and do what is right, and put a stop to it. Instead of letting it go on because they are afraid of being called racists.

I'm predicting a low turnout. Aren't EBT cards refilled on Fridays?

I work in Hoover off of Lorna. I may have to go to the Galleria when I get off and get a good laugh. I have to do some Christmas shopping anyway, might as well kill two birds with one stone.

I think that people should show up with Pro-Life signs for the fun.

The protesters have a Lawyer and he is going to speak for them.

Protests planned for Friday at The Summit, Galleria

We still don't know who is organizing these protests, but we have learned David Gespass is representing the group.

Gespass wouldn't say whether the group is really going to try to shutdown Highway 280, but he did say he will be there to observe and protect the best they can the protesters' constitutional rights.

So that must've been why that FEMA communications trailer was set up in front Home Depot at the Galleria on Thursday afternoon.

Not really.  One man laid in the road and police asked him to get up and he did.  A hand full laid in the food court at the Galleria. Nothing much to see.
