Our second ICORE match of the year is coming up at Wildcat Valley near Brookston, IN this Sunday, July 1. Match details for Sunday. Six challenging COF's including two with movers and two ICORE classifiers. Round count is 103 but I would highly recommend bringing lots more. The match is a nice mix of stationary marksmanship and "RUN and GUN". If you even think you might want to shoot the match and you are not on my email list, contact me at [email protected] so I can add you. July weather in Indiana is unpredictable and I will send out an announcement very early on Sunday if we need to cancel for rain. Setup: 7.30 Registration: Approx 9:30 Shooters Meeting 9:45 Hammer Down at 10:00 All times are nominal pending completion of setup. Match fee $15 and exact change is appreciated. $100 and $50 bills will be considered donations to the match director. NEW SHOOTERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME. YOU WILL NEED A SAFE FIREARM AND HOLSTER PLUS 5 SPEEDLOADERS OR VERY NIMBLE FINGERS. If you need to borrow some equipment, let me know and I can help out. Bring you own refreshments and food as necessary. I NEED HELP. If you make a significant contribution to setup, officiating and teardown, you shoot for free. Let me know if you can help. I promise this to be one of my best matches and hope you can participate. DVC Jeff Brown, Match Director |

New to Riley Conservation club!!!!
Steel Challenge type matches Information from their website is included below: Steel RCC, in conjunction with Wabash Valley Practical Pistol Shooters, will hold Steel Challenge type matches on the first Saturday of each month beginning in April (there will not be a match in June). Steel shooting is a rapidly growing sport in the shooting community. Competitors, using pistols of all calibers or .22 rimfire rifles (ideally magazine fed to accommodate reloading between strings of fire), engage five steel targets in various configurations. Your time for hitting each of the five targets is your score. Each of the five targets must be hit during each string of fire and a designated stop plate will be hit last to stop the time. The competitor shoots each course of fire five times and the four fastest times count toward your score. Each match will consist of four or five course of fire. Total score for all stages will determine the match champion in each division. Steel shooting is a great sport for beginner, junior and lady shooters, as well as those with more experience. Unlike other action pistol sports, there is no movement and no need to reload (usually) during a course of fire. It is a great way for anyone to either begin competing or for the experienced shooter to hone his skills. First match is April 5 2008!!! |
