L.O. F'n L.
I left shortly after the SKS went for damn near $700
No idea what was going on, whole crowd would start to rumble in
Disbelief as the prices climbed. Beat up POS bolt guns running $600-$1000

I wonder if the DNR went into the money laundering business

I'm beginning to think any gun related social events are a big waste of time.  No more auctions, gun shows, classes, etc for me.

at least at gun shows you can haggle and trade.
I came out great at the deerwood one a month or so back. traded a new savage bolt gun i got for $75 for a fantastic shooting 1944 Mosin.
I'm really hoping they do another gun buyback again this year.

I'm in disbelief the DNR seized so many firearms and sporting equipment.  Disgrace to shooters, hunters, and trappers.  A few bad apples ruin it for everyone.

I thought about going, Model 88 Winny in the list.  Just to see if the original owner would be there to try and buy it back. Seen it at prior DNR auctions.   I wouldn't buy it, just give the guy swift kick in the gonads for allowing an 88 to be seized.

That has got to be why many go for such ridiculous prices.

Sad to see that there are poachers and other morons born and bred in MN.  That they all do not fly off to Africa to do alleged misdeeds!

Imagine forfeiting Grandpa hand me down Pre 64 Winchester 88?.  A true family heirloom.
Where as a Savage Axis? Not so much

Auctions of any sort have generally been a waste of time...Gun, farm, equipment, estate...Always idiots paying more than it's worth.  Plus the stuff I want is generally at the end of the day, so you burn a whole day to pay more for something.

The state and the auctioneer should have done it online too.  Really drove up prices

DNR knows damn well a fool and their money are soon separated.
I'm so glad folks pay premium $$$ to get back their priceless family heirlooms cuz they couldn't/wouldn't spend the $45 for a license up front.

I've shared a few drinks with COs and they just do their jobs.

Some fun stories:
CO catches a FUDD on Leach Lake:
"Can I see your license?"
"I didn't think I needed a fishing lic as I thought I was only doing catch n release" as dumbass was caught with a live well full of (short) northerns.

CO caught several asian men who pretended not to speak ingrish on White Bear

CO: "Well, I don't care if you speak or not, I'm impounding your boat, your trailer, and your vehicle"
Dumbass: "Wait, whut?" w/o any accent.

And then there are all the morons who are too drunk to drive a boat and forget that some of their passengers fell overboard (without a life vest).
linky to the stupid fockers who drink and drive and die
